Top hotel beautiful clean rooms, only the bathrooms are old-fashioned. Beautifully located in the center. Breakfast is enough and for everyone what they want.
Excellent hotel. Good service, no fuss. Rooms are well equipted. Quality breakfast with lots of choices. Pleasant bar. My friends enjoyed it and so did I.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Antwerp Old Town. From the moment we arrived, we had a very positive impression of the hotel. The hotel was scrupulously clean, and our room was spacious, modern and very comfortable. The room décor is perhaps a little on the bland side, but honestly, there was nothing to complain about. Everything was well maintained, the bed was comfortable, and the room had a good TV. What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, but a special mention goes to the young lady who checked us in. She was absolutely brilliant, warm, welcoming and genuinely enthusiastic. She was a fantastic ambassador for Hilton and, indeed, for Belgium. Her welcome really set the tone for our stay. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Antwerp and ideal for exploring the city on foot. The hotel also has a lovely atmosphere and a very welcoming feel. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice and good-quality food. Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would happily return to the Hilton Antwerp Old Town. It's a hotel that gets the important things right: cleanliness, comfort, location and, above all, excellent staff. Highly recommended.
The two stars are because the hotel has an excellent location, and the room was clean. We were staying for a special occasion, and spent far more than we ordinarily would. The room was the best part of 600 euros for two nights for two adults and two children ROOM ONLY!! We were therefore expecting something pretty special. The room, however, was dated and dark, and looked onto office windows. The bathroom was tired. The tea on offer in the room was green tea or camomile teabags. When we asked to swap these for English Breakfast tea, we were told we would have to order tea on room service or buy some teabags (even though English Breakfast tea is served by the hotel). Unbelievable. We ended up speaking to a manager about this, but we were told it was probably a misunderstanding. It wasn't, but there we are. I did explain that they were welcome to keep their far-more-expensive coffee capsules in exchange for two teabags. They didn't take me up on the offer. Finally, some teabags were delivered to the room, but no milk... There were some tiny bottles of water in the fridge that were 4 euros each if not a Hilton Honours member of a certain tier. We are, but didn't have the water anyway, in case we were charged for it. We knew in advance that the carpark near the hotel was a whopping 30 euros a night, but what is surprising is that the hotel asked on check-in if you are in the carpark but does not warn people that they have to register their car with the authorities to enter Antwerp. I found this out quite by chance when researching something else. Luckily, it can be done up to 3 days after entering the city centre. There are NO signs in the city that we saw warning of this either. I am afraid that instead of feeling like a special trip, we left feeling like we had been totally ripped off.
Hilton Antwerp enjoys such a prime location. The hotel was recommended, booked and paid for by my sister, who believed it would be the best choice for this trip, despite us having another favourite place in Antwerp. Check-in was fine, though not quite as seamless as expected. Our suite on the 4th floor, including the bathroom, was spacious, but the layout felt rather strange and outdated, with a lot of space poorly utilised. There was no master light switch, meaning we had to turn every light on and off individually, which was surprisingly inconvenient. The shower itself felt straight out of the 80s: very small, with a high step from the bathroom floor. Just two bottles of water found in the minibar. The Executive Lounge on the 5th floor was tidy, but very crowded and noisy during evening cocktails. The finger-food selection was quite basic, although there was a good choice of beverages. Breakfast on the ground floor was good, with sufficient variety, quality ingredients and good flavours. It was rather crowded, though, and the experience felt mostly self-service. No one approached us to ask whether we would like to order any items from the menu. Check-out was quick and efficient. Overall, the location is undoubtedly one of the hotel’s strongest points, but the room design, dated bathroom and some aspects of the service could certainly benefit from an update.
I had received an overnight stay with my husband for Christmas as a surprise. He booked the two-story suite with a nice view, but that's where it stops. Old room, the steam bath didn't work in the bathroom anymore. The top floor was spacious, but cold and formal. On the website they state a base price, however, when you register at the reception, supplements are still charged. Final result of a very expensive room, wasted a lot of money and big disappointment Never again for us!
Nice hotel in the center of the old town. The rooms a quite spacious and the air condition is working very well. Underneath is a huge car park with enough of available space.
It’s on the edge of old town, arrived the hotel around dinner time and asked chief concierge’s recommendation for restaurant, and it’s a really bad one, maybe only target tourists. Shared our comments with him after we return to the hotel, he showed no care! Moved to our room, an opened mineral water together with another new one. Called receptionist and was said no complimentary water provided as we are just normal HH guests, but they still so kind to pick up the water and replace a new one. No apology~ This is a disappointing one!
Perfect 4 nites here. Only flaw, water in shower doesn’t drain fully-gathers up to toes not quite ankles. I hate this. Why don’t maids check this each time? Otherwise, very nice! Trouble with food poisoning with Nicoise salad on first night, it happens, they were very sweet and comped my meal. A/c perfect, breakfast heavenly! We shall return to Hilton, always a pleasure. Thank you for service in these tough times.
Very good location. I arrived very early before check in time to drop my bags, the super friendly receptionist was happy to tell me my room was ready - very welcome after an early start / journey. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable. Lovely big bathroom. I could have done with more coffee /milk in the room but I’m sure if I had asked they would have provided it - I didn’t ask so that’s on me. My room overlooked the road but there was no noise. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend.
