Kilks & Kolks – Folk-Jazz Duo Kilks & Kolks is a string duo born out of improvisation and musical exploration, blending the rich traditions of folk music with the spontaneity of jazz. The duo consists of Greta Ruben (violin) and Kristin Klesment (viola), whose shared journey began at the Estonian Ethno Camp and continued through their studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EMTA) . United by a desire to push musical boundaries, they create a distinctive sound that is both rooted in tradition and open to experimentation. Their repertoire features traditional melodies from Estonia and around the world alongside original compositions. By incorporating live sound effects and ambient textures into their performances, they expand the sonic possibilities of folk music, creating unique soundscapes where tradition meets contemporary expression. Kilks & Kolks has previously performed on the Green Stage at Viljandi Folk Music Festival for two consecutive summers, as well as at the Viru Folk Festival . #tallinnfringe2026
