Hotel Boutique Escudo del Carmen

The hotel is elegant and very well located. The room described as "Andalusian Patio" is right next to the reception area and actually overlooks the breakfast room and the stairs leading to the other rooms. The window overlooking the patio is therefore unusable, and there is no window to the outside. This is clearly not apparent on the English version of the website, and the room description is misleading. The room is damp and poorly lit. It's noisy during the day and tolerable at night until breakfast begins.

It was a unique experience in so many ways…the hotel's decor, the suite's amenities, the room's views, and a bathtub in the center of the room worthy of a period film…highly recommended for a romantic getaway or to celebrate a special day…and a special thank you to África, Beatriz, and Nieves, who took wonderful care of us from check-in through our stay and check-out, helping us with everything we needed. We will definitely be back.

A small, charming boutique hotel in an ideal location. Everything is very close by. The views of the mountains and over the rooftops of Granada are superb. Breakfast options are right next door if you want to get an early start. Helpful staff. Stylish rooms, modern comforts combined with the authentic charm of Granada. Highly recommended!

A rare find in Granada, where history, architecture and modern comfort come together with real authenticity. Hotel Boutique Escudo del Carmen is not just a place to stay, it is a beautifully restored historical building with genuine character. The structure dates back to the late 18th century and was originally linked to the nearby Carmelite convent, which gives the hotel a sense of depth and story you simply do not find in modern constructions. What makes it special is how carefully this heritage has been preserved. Original elements such as wooden beams, exposed brick and the traditional Andalusian layout have been combined with a refined and comfortable modern interior. It feels authentic rather than staged, elegant without trying too hard. The location is excellent. Situated in the historic centre, everything is within walking distance, yet the hotel itself remains calm and intimate. You are in the middle of Granada, but without the noise and stress that often comes with it. The boutique scale of the hotel makes a real difference. It is small, personal and well managed, with a level of attention that larger hotels simply cannot match. Service feels natural and welcoming, not forced. The rooms follow the same philosophy as the rest of the hotel. Clean, quiet, well designed and very comfortable, with a clear respect for both tradition and modern expectations. If I have to point out one negative aspect, it would be the WiFi connection. It was unfortunately very unstable, often not working at all, and when it did connect it lasted only a few seconds before dropping out again. Throughout our stay we ended up relying on 4G on our phones. That said, it does not take away from the overall experience. In a city with many accommodation options, this hotel stands out by doing something very few manage: it respects its history while delivering a high level of comfort and atmosphere. For us, this is exactly what a boutique hotel should be. A place with character. A place with a story. And a place we would return to without hesitation.
