My band just took the trip up to play here and we absolutely loved it. Definitely worth the drive. Will play here anytime. Art on the walls for sale, good food menu, great live sound, great atmosphere. The employees are awesome.

Great small music venue. Wonderful staff, good drinks, good music

First of all, a big thank-you to The Camel for being one of Richmond’s best live music venues for as long as I can remember. They have an incredible knack for booking artists before they hit it big. Over the years, we’ve seen countless musicians here when they were just getting started—close enough to practically read the setlist over their shoulder. You’re often standing three feet from future stars, which is pretty special. Fair warning: it’s a small space and it gets crowded (because it’s awesome). If you sit on the bar side, you’re probably not seeing much of the stage. On the music side, there’s very little seating. Translation: wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to stand. It’s part of the experience. Most recently, we saw Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and her band, and they were absolutely incredible. I’d be shocked if she isn’t playing much bigger venues in the next year or two. Another “we saw them first” moment courtesy of The Camel. If you love live music, follow their concert calendar and grab tickets early. Huge kudos to whoever is booking the talent here—you consistently knock it out of the park. One of Richmond’s true gems. Long may it rock.
