Where to Stay in and around Grimbergen
Grimbergen does not have gay-specific hotels — as a quiet Flemish town near Brussels, its accommodation is mainstream. But Belgium's strong anti-discrimination laws and relaxed, progressive culture mean LGBTQ+ travellers are welcome throughout, and the town makes a calm, affordable base within easy reach of the capital's scene. Options range from wellness hotels to simple business hotels and rural B&Bs, both in Grimbergen itself and in the neighbouring communities of Strombeek-Bever, Meise, Steenokkerzeel, Dilbeek and Vilvoorde.
Wellness Hotels
The area is known for its thermal-spa hotels. Thermae Grimbergen Hotel adjoins the large Thermae Grimbergen wellness resort, while Thermae Boetfort occupies a moated castle estate at Steenokkerzeel near Brussels Airport, and Thermen Dilbeek pairs a hotel with a thermal spa west of the city. These are mainstream, mixed-clientele resorts.
Town and Abbey
Hotel Abbey sits close to Grimbergen's landmark abbey and town centre, and B&B Den Biesthoek offers a peaceful rural stay just outside the centre. For budget travellers, Atomi Hotel and Hotel Auberge Van Strombeek in Strombeek-Bever are handy for the Heizel, Brussels Expo and the Atomium.
Nearby Villages and the Airport
Just north, in Meise near the National Botanic Garden, Falko Hotel and the Time To Escape guesthouse make quiet green-belt bases, while Campanile in Vilvoorde and Sleep & Go Brussels Expo suit travellers who need quick access to the airport, the ring road or the exhibition halls.

If nightlife is your priority, consider basing yourself in central Brussels instead — the Saint-Jacques "Rainbow" district and the city's gay bars, saunas and clubs are all within walking distance of one another, about 15 kilometres south of Grimbergen and reachable by bus or by train from nearby Vilvoorde.
