Sobre este lugar Emily Murphy Park

A riverside park near the university that has long been mentioned in local lore as a warm-weather cruising spot along the River Valley trails. Like all of Edmonton's outdoor spots, it's a shared public space used by joggers, cyclists and families by day; any after-dark activity is informal and unsanctioned. Canada is safe and legally welcoming for LGBTQ+ visitors, but use discretion and stay aware.

This park is extremely easy to access by park with a fairly large parking lot available (though on weekends and especially holidays it can be quite full). Picnic areas are spotted throughout the park. There is also a small play area for kids. This park is along the river valley trail system which connects many of the river valley parks together. After a nice sit down meal, you can take a walk though the wide open and flat trails. Currently there is still some construction at one end of the park (as of spring 2021) but the park is large enough that it is not a concern. Definitely recommended for a family day picnic out in the river valley.

Nice place to have a fire and picnic, although little to do otherwise with younger kids. With older kids, there are trails nearby for a nice cycling trip, or a leisurely walk.

Pack up your family and head down here for a fun filled day. Sit around the fire, roast hot dogs and marshmallows and enjoy the beauty!

Just off the highway, lots of shaded trees along the River and in the Playground. Lots of walking/biking paths and good picnic spots. Clean facilities. Popular with families with little kids who enjoy playground equipment which is well kept and clean.

One of the many parks connected along the river valley. Right next door to Hawrelak the no1 park in Edmonton.

Small park along the river close to the much larger Hawrelak park. You can always get a parking spot and it is on the river trail system to go for a nice walk along the river. We were there recently on a warm winter day and really enjoyed walking east towards the High Level Bridge. Trail was quiet and it was very peaceful. We used to picnic here when I was younger and it is well set up for that.

This is one of my favourite places to be able to drive to, park my vehicle and get in a quick run on the trails between Emily Murphy Park and Mayfair Park: spring, summer, fall and/or winter!

Lovely place to stroll along, have a picnic (bring own firewood for a bbq) lots of room for play, lots of picnic benches and tables. Has a shelter if it starts to rain, and toilets.

Just spent a couple of hours walking in the river valley and stopped in this park for a bit. The trails in that area are fairly wide for biking, running or walking, and you can choose paved or gravel. We were there late morning and there were very few people on the trails or in the park. It would be a lovely picnic spot as it is so central and the river is right there also. We enjoyed a few nice views on our walk and saw a few squirrels, birds and snakes (harmless ones of course). For those looking for a longer trek you can continue to William Hawrelak Park and back along Groat Road.

If you like to run on easy and flat trails Emily Murphy Park is a great place to park and connect to Edmonton's river valley trail system. Also this is a good spot for family photography. It's a park, nothing too exciting going on here and not worth visiting if you are from out of town.
