I stayed here recently and reserved a parking spot for $25, but the access to the parking area was pretty difficult and potentially unsafe in winter conditions. The access required driving over the sidewalk where there was nearly a foot-high ridge of ice on both sides. I drive a small hatchback and there was no way to get onto the parking area without scraping the bottom of my car. When I tried, I briefly lost traction because the ice was so high. We called to report the issue and were told someone would come fix it, but no one ever did. In addition, the “parking” area itself was basically solid ice. When temperatures went above zero the next day it became extremely slippery. There is also no reception staff present. The only staff we saw during the stay were cleaning staff in the morning. When we arrived at check-in, the keypad to our room didn’t work, so we had to call them and one of us had to go downstairs to get a physical key instead of using the code that had been provided.

Hotel well located with good value for money, staff available if needed and clean room with renovated bathroom, and good bedding but the soundproofing is very insufficient, especially for the rooms located in the lobby, which disturbs rest.

I stayed here for 2 nights in mid-September. The only positive was its close location to Old Quebec — convenient for walking However, everything else was below expectations: The room was extremely small and felt cramped. Cleanliness was poor — floors and bathroom were not properly maintained. There was no real front desk or staff presence, which made check-in and getting help frustrating. Overall, aside from the location, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Sorry.

The location of this hotel is convenient, but unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of my stay. This was my third visit to Old Quebec, and while everything else about my trip was wonderful, this hotel was by far the most unpleasant experience I’ve had in the city. 1. Confined Space / Room Layout The room was extremely small, with just a queen-size bed and virtually no usable space. I couldn’t even open my luggage on the floor. The slanted, low ceiling made it even more difficult to move around comfortably — I hit my head multiple times when getting up, reaching the window, or even just walking around the bed. 2. Unpleasant Odour & Poor Hygiene Cleanliness and hygiene were unacceptable. From the moment we checked in, the entire room had a strong bathroom odour — not just musty, but like aged urine. Because the room was so confined, the smell spread throughout. Even a T-shirt I had hanging by the closet absorbed the odour so badly that I had to throw it away. When I asked the concierge about changing rooms, I was told the hotel was fully booked. Instead, staff came in and poured bleach and powder into the toilet. This was only a temporary cover-up, and the odour returned within hours. There were also visible signs of mold in the room, making the hygiene issues even more concerning. 3. Ventilation Issues & Bugs The room had no proper ventilation. The window was broken and lacked a screen. On our first night, the window had been left open before check-in, so the room was already full of mosquitoes and other bugs. 4. Lack of Proper Cleaning It was evident that the room had not been properly cleaned in some time. There were piles of dust in multiple areas — this was not something that could have built up in a single day. Overall Despite its good location, the hotel itself fell far below expectations. The combination of cramped space, poor ventilation, unpleasant odour, mold, and a clear lack of cleanliness made the stay extremely uncomfortable. For the price (over $400), it was not remotely worth it. Old Quebec is a beautiful city with many excellent accommodation options. Sadly, Manoir de la Tour is not one I would recommend.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Very quiet, safe, and central. Right next to the Plains of Abraham. I walked in the area at 10 PM and felt safe. I didn't mind the contactless check in However, my room had some strange humid smell. And the staff said that it was probably going to turn away if I turned on the fan. It never went away. When I told them I couldn't find the AC, they promised to bring a portable AC AND they never brought it. Never. They apologized but they never brought it over two days. They never followed up to ask how things were going. In fact, I solved the problem by finding the correct AC (which wasn't working too great). Due to the musty smell, I had allergies. I thought this smell issue was only a thing for the rooms in the basement but I was on the ground floor. That smell and the lack of staff follow through would affect if I come back to the hotel in future visits.
