Nice hotel with a rooftop

I had a pretty great stay here but there are a few things I’d love to share that I saw other reviewers mentioned as well. For whatever reason our room did not have a functional AC unit, we had to inform the lobby and they instructed us they put in a ticket to get someone to turn it on however no one ever came or repaired it, the room was 71 degrees throughout our entire stay. Not very comfortable for sleeping - we could not open our window as it was crawling with critters and no screen. I’d like to note as well, the gentleman in the front desk stated that the AC unit had to be triggered by maintenance in order to truly turn on the air- stating that the control panel in the room does not fully turn it on, again this is something someone else mentioned too. Despite this, I am really pleased and would love to give this hotel another try! The ambiance and overall vibe are really inviting and the front desk folks and Valet were extremely pleasant. We got to enjoy some Coffee up front as well and it was very well made! I would love to come back and potentially try another room that has AC throughout the summer.

This is a very dog-friendly hotel so if that’s your primary interest in this property, go ahead and book. Upon check-in for our one-night stay we specifically requested, and paid extra for, a late (2 PM) check out. The following morning, someone opened our door at 11:15 AM and told us that check out was 11 AM. When we explained to them that we paid for a late 2 PM check out they said they had no record of that, as they were looking at their tablet. Our key cards were not working by 1 PM which we realized when we were running things out to our car to prepare for check out. The shower was ice cold when we turned it on. Took 15 min of running the shower water through the pipes to get to a barely acceptable lukewarm temperature, then it went cold again after 10 minutes. In general the hotel is well designed, and the rooms are clean. Operationally it fell short and really soured our experience.

the room was kinda smelly like mold and/or cleaning product. Very friendly staff & great food and beverages but the room smell soured my trip.

Parking is an issue

Before booking, be aware that the front desk controls the temperature in every room. I used the buttons on the HVAC and after it responding differently to what I set, I asked the front desk to send someone up. He said that “some” rooms are controlled by the front desk and I was in one of them. After checking out, I asked a different person and she told me all rooms are controlled by the front desk. Obviously they know that this is an issue with guests and they try to hide it. I travel for work and stay in hotels about 10-15 nights a month, and have never been to a hotel where you have to tell the front desk what temperature you want. The fact that this hotel does not advertise that is almost a scam. They don’t tell you at check in, and no signage in the room informs you to tell the front desk what temperature you’d like. They leave the buttons powered on the HVAC unit itself, but they do not do anything and they leave it up to you to maybe figure out that it’s not actually doing what you want. $320 for one night and not being able to control the temperature is absolutely insane.

Man, don't do it! The mattress and pillows were awesome, but the room had a total of 0 drawers, 5 hangers and basically no hanging space. (For some reason, the only "closet" has a shelf at mid-height, which prevents hanging long clothes, but is too high to haul your suitcase up onto. And if you put your suitcase on the floor of the closet, that fills up the half-height hanging space.) Using the few wall-mounted hooks will make your room look a mess the entire time. Are we supposed to live out of our suitcases during our stay? For what they charge?? Even worse! The shower soaked the entire bathroom floor every time, the over-sink light faded out on its own, the over-shower light flickered on and off (!), and on check-out, they charged us $40.12 for two 8oz cans of water. (Their "destination fee" also offers you discounts, none of which we could have used during our stay.) The location and common area ambiance is great, and the staff we interacted with was lovely, but it's supposed to be a hotel, yeah? How about some actual hotel functionality??

The Asbury Hotel is simply one of the best places to stay on the Jersey Shore, and we keep coming back for good reason. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is just right. It’s cool, laid-back, and full of character. The ambiance hits that rare sweet spot between stylish and genuinely welcoming. The rooms are spotless, the staff is warm and attentive, and the location makes everything convenient whether you’re heading to the beach, the boardwalk, or exploring Asbury Park’s incredible music and food scene. I need to give a special shoutout to the café! The coffee is excellent, and having a great cup ready when you need it (morning or night) is one of those little things that elevates a stay from good to great. We’d book this hotel again and again without hesitation. The only thing we’d love to see? Open the bar a little earlier on weekends. The vibes are already there, just let us enjoy them sooner! If you’re heading to Asbury Park and wondering where to stay, stop wondering. The Asbury Hotel is it.

My mom, sister and myself stayed in the suite that was suppose to have a king bed and futon. The floors were super dirty upon entry and the futon did not have a mattress. It basically felt like I was sleeping on wood. Very uncomfortable and would not consider this an extra sleeping arrangement. Besides the beautiful view, it did not feel like it was worth the money and definitely did not accommodate 3 people sleeping comfortably. Our room phone was out of service as well so we had more of a difficult time reaching the front desk.

Perfect location for foodies! There are so many highly-rated restaurants just a few steps away from the lobby. The hotel itself is very quiet, providing a nice escape from the busy streets outside. The room decor felt very high-end and chic.

Had a stay here one night last weekend . Was awoken to the sound of blaring alarms saying there was an emergency and to wait for more info. It didnt stop for a long time and the hotel provided no info as to what happened as itcould have been an activ shooter or something. This coild have been easily achieved with their text system. My phone died and the power was out, what a bummer
