Best Western Charleston Inn

I am a Best Western Rewards Member and have stayed at many of their hotels for years, however this has to be one of the MOST DISGUSTING Best Western Locations to date. We checked in 5/28. Upon arrival we noticed The room had Sewer Flies, Knats actively flying around. I notified the front desk and they offered to put us in another room. Upon walking in there was a dead roach on the desk and 2 others that scurried. I took a picture. It was very late so we Went back to original room to find small roaches climbing the bathroom wall and 1 that scurried across the counter. Even though it was 12:00 am, We QUICKLY packed our things and found another Hotel!!!! The hotel is dark, Dreary, run down and doesnt look like the photos. The staff was very nice, however sleeping with Roaches and sewer bugs is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!

Cockroaches everywhere!!!! Worst hotel of my entire life. I don’t know how it’s possible that this place is still renting rooms to guests. We arrived at 11:30 p.m. after a 5-hour drive, thinking we’d be able to take a shower and lie down. But when we got there, while carrying our luggage up the stairs (because, yes, there’s no elevator), we saw cockroaches on the stairs. We figured it was because of the heat, but when we walked into the room, we found three live cockroaches. It was impossible to sleep in that room. Cleanliness is the foundation of any hotel. The rooms and furniture are old, but for the price, you could say it’s passable. But the lack of hygiene at this hotel is serious. We turned around and returned the keys. A very kind young woman gave us the manager’s contact information. 0 news from him or from everyone else. The result: we found ourselves outside at midnight looking for another hotel. I sent an email and tried to contact him four times, but I didn’t get a response. I won’t give up on getting a refund. It’s not right to offer rooms in such a filthy condition. By the way: you absolutely must fumigate your hotel for cockroaches

Very clean rooms, bed is comfortable. Great location. Would recommend and would stay again. Very satisfied customer.

The place was a motel not a hotel. The shower curtains were too short so the bathroom and the room flooded. The front desk had us get towels daily from them and mop our own floors. Feral cats roamed everywhere and there was food bowls out to feed them.

Best Westerns use to be really nice hotels, but I won't be staying in one ever again. I booked our room through Booking.com, paid in full before we even arrived. I did not have $60 available on a credit card and my debit card kept declining even with plenty of funds available. At which point I was told, "you can't stay here. We need that $60." Ma'am, I am nearly 50 years old. What am I gonna do in that room that will need to be repaired? Luckily my sister had room on her card because when I then asked for a refund, I was told no, I would need to call Booking.com. So....y'all are willing to give up $500 for that booking over $60? I have stayed at resorts who waived $1000 incidental fees because I didn't have the space on a credit card. It's called customer service. We only stayed because we were tired. Only positive to report is that the room is clean. However, when I turned on the faucet in the shower this morning, it came out dark brown.

Roaches everywhere. Waiting on a refund, desk staff had to send request to general manager. Desk staff said I should just stick it out. Horrible and disgusting. Already have a call in to customer relations.

We stayed here for the first time 4 years ago. The bed are terrible. This time was terrible. Check in was 3. Couldn't check in until after 4 bc they had a washer down and short on linen. Worst of the worst was not one but 2 baby roachs. Then walking back from the pool in a room there was a huge roach climbing all in the window. I get it's a hotel but spraying for bugs is a must. We will never be staying here again. The roaches were not ok.

Do not stay here. The front desk and General Manager are not customer focused as I am a Best Western Rewards customer. Called left on hold and emailed General Manager no response. Stayed one night and the room was dirty. This is not a Best Western Plus, stay some place else, you will thank me later. Total circle, the General Manager does not return emails or phone calls. Stay elsewhere!

The hotel is very outdated, and the quality of service absolutely does not justify the price. The receptionist is not welcoming at all. The rooms are old, with decor and furnishings straight out of the 70s... The beds are probably from the same era. They creak. You can feel the springs, and they're not even a standard size... This is definitely not a hotel I will return to. Not pleasant at all. I do not recommend it.

So, the location was good for what I needed and so was the price. The service at the counter was immaculate. I actually didn't have any complaints until I got to the room. The room itself was either inhabited by someone who smoked cigarettes or the wacky tobaccy, I think both because I caught wifts of both, or they are nearby enough to effect the room. While I am 420 friendly and a previous smoker, I do not appreciate the smells these days. Next, the tub. The stopper would not work to save my life. Made it more difficult for my kids, who could take showers but aren't yet tall enough for it. I guess overall, for the location and price, it could have been much worse. I'd have given a higher rating if not for the issues with the room. Everything else is nice enough.
