Some visitors praise the hotel's great location and helpful staff, with one reviewer specifically mentioning a front desk employee going out of their way to accommodate a handicapped guest. However, a significant number of guests report serious issues with cleanliness, including roaches, mold, and broken tiles, and some experienced rude or unhelpful front desk interactions.

Very rude woman at the motel front desk. The room wasn’t ready at 3:00 pm, and she refused to give us an estimated time as to when it would be ready. She basically said it would be ready when it would be ready. She couldn’t give us another room bc there were only certain rooms for pets yet the motel was 90% empty. It’s supposed to be a dog friendly motel and she was being very rude about my dog. Don’t work in customer service if you don’t have customer service skills. The man that took over when she left, was very nice.
Great location because of proximity to things. The whole place would benefit from an upgrade. While the beds were comfortable, the bathroom needed a thorough deep cleaning. There was mold, broken tile, hair from previous guests, etc. There were blackberries & weeds growing in the bushes in front of our room. Beware of the palmetto bugs..they're everywhere! We went to the breakfast area while "Ms Shay" was on duty. Ms Shay was nowhere to be found even though there was plenty to be done in the dining area. She was stuck to her phone in the room where she prepared food. When my husband peaked his head in the door to let her know that the apple juice was pouring out of the machine onto the floor, she seemed bothered that she had to put her phone down. The one positive that I can mention is that the nice man from Nigeria that checked us in was very friendly.
Will never stay here again ! Roaches everywhere!
my boyfriend was outside and the general manager tried to talk to him(hes gay aparently) And my boyfriend turned him down. Next thing I know we were kicked out of the room.
Great place to stay while visiting Charleston!
