Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina

Marina, location, location. Beautiful. That's it. Showers and bathrooms are a joke. Pools are over crowded and stunk of chlorine. Fuel dock was a breeze.

Went to party at the point. They put on a fantastic show whomever is the band.

Beautiful property with a nice location. Love the hardwood floors and the electric fireplace in the room. The service was great at the pool and at the bar. There was also a guitar player one night. The 4 star review is due to several issues: cold showers, bathroom sconces that did not turn off, and pillows that were horrible to sleep on. For those of you who like very thick pillows - you'll love this. Unfortunately it caused a restless night's sleep and a drowsy drive home the next day.

The quality of the rooms is insane for the price. The rooms are not well maintained and not very functional. The appearance of the room was not appealing. The room felt dirty because there wasn’t attention to detail (paint didn’t look even on the walls, there were dark spots on ceiling, moulding was funky). The bathroom was AWFUL. It was so dark I could barely see and the water pressure was nonexistent. Also the toilet didn’t like to flush. For about $400 a night I’m disappointed. I wanted to bring this up to the front desk when we left, but the workers didn’t seem to want to talk. The views are incredible by the pool.

Great location and amities however hotel is in great need of some maintenance. Room desperately needs painting. Scratches all over walls furniture and molding. Appears to have lacked in up keep on maintenance. I have stayed here over the years as it is always comfortable but really needs updating.

Really great location, beautiful grounds plenty of food and drink options. Rooms are very clean well maintained staff was the highlight for us especially Brandon the bartender at the fish house, Brandy at the front desk and Yolanda at our private Tiki Hut event.

We had a nice time at this resort. One of our best vacations ever!! We stayed from Monday to Thursday. The staff was friendly, and the resort was clean (but needs massive updates). We loved the outside area. The pools in the CLUB RESORT were amazing. We loved that area. We loved the bar areas as well. However - this resort needed updates. Looked a bit shabby by this tent located by the pool. It was filled with WHO KNOWS WHAT. If the tent had sides - we couldn’t see the shabbiness and junk from our room’s view. I would suggest cleaning up this area and making it more presentable - not an eyesore. But - with this being said, we hope to bring family members back sometime in the future. Unfortunately, there were some ‘other’ issues. We didn't like that the shuttle wasn't running one day because their van was being serviced. Ugh. We were also EXTREMELY disappointed that our hotel room had NO MICROWAVE. There was plenty of room in the room's cabinet to have one. This hotel absolutely has to have microwaves. Another issue was that it was beyond difficult to open and close the sliding glass patio door that led to the deck. Huge challenge! Closing the bathroom door was also a challenge. One last thing - we paid for this vacation through Expedia. BUT when we checked out - the hotel charged us a $40 / night resort fee. Ugh. We are hoping this resort’s “issues” are addressed and resolved because we would like to return to Charleston again someday. The location was absolutely perfect for our travels. And the views were amazing!! This resort has so much potential. 😎

This used to be my go to resort to recommend when people from out of town would come visit. The challenge is if there are any events going on, the people with clipboards at the gate will not let you in to pick up your friends in fear that you might park there. Even if you are willing to pay the outrageous and tourist gouging rates they charge. It’s a shame, used to be a cool place.
