Econo Lodge Wausau - Rothschild

The hot tub was closed and the pool was so cold the kids couldn't swim! Remodeling and there is furniture and tools and garbage all over inside and out making it hard to get around anywhere... and the smelling the hallways is awful! Oh and did I mention the 12 people who ended up sick with food poisoning from eating the breakfast.... stay away from this place! Don't waste your money. Will never return to this place

Place was under construction. Smelled like foreign food.

They put me in a room where I couldn't block the Sun and there were people arguing through the night it's okay but it would never be my first choice my company put me here

Twin size beds. Don't believe me rent one out.

The owners of this place were considerate, I booked wrong week and they worked with me. Thought this would be a good experience until the housekeeper checked me in. I told her that the other man who answered the phone said I could check in 30 mins early, she vehement that policy was policy. She said she would look into, well after I left she charged me 15 dollars. Stayed a couple weeks in between places . Did my best to leave place clean, couple days later my credit card had 150 and 100 dollar charges. Called and she said supposedly was a towel over the fire alarm. There wasn’t but I did call front desk about sensitive fire alarm and did nothing I made my room available to them throughout my stay to prove not ripping it to shreds . I even said charge me 50 bucks if you want but I did not smoke in the room . So now I’m disputing with credit card company . Why is the house keeper who cleans up after us checking us in, they are hired for cleaning not customer service..

While the rooms were clean the hot tub was shut down. I select hotels based on the availability of a hot tub. No notification on the website

If we could rate this stay as a “0” we would! First of all there’s NO ONE present at check-in…everything done by kiosk with agent who spoke minimal English. Close captioning helped but it was an unpleasant experience (ditto for check-out). Room was dirty with hair on bathroom floor, funky dirty sleeper beside the bed, and mold and dirt in bathroom. In spite of what the hotel will say we NEVER saw an employee at the hotel. If there are issues they say to call, but we didn’t feel comfortable having no one visible on the premises. Would not stay here in the future.
