Hilton Vacation Club The Modern Honolulu

We arrived before check in and staff was very accommodating to hold our luggage. Concierge was outstanding, answered questions, gave excellent suggestions and greeted us every day!! Because of them, we enjoyed Island Vintage shave ice - SO GOOD!! The rooms were nice, the beds lower to the floor than I'd like, guessing more Asian style? We had a partial ocean view overlooking both pools. Friday night we had a front row view of the Waikiki fireworks!! Pools were nice, always plenty of chairs chose from and the wings at the Grove Restaurant were delicious! On site paid parking was great and very easy to come and go. Housekeeping was so kind and even if they weren't cleaning your room, they asked if you needed anything or would bring you something right away. Location is great, ABC store very close and lots within walking distance. Highly recommend staying here. Thank you Hilton for an AMAZING stay!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hilton Vacation Club The Modern Honolulu I’ve stayed at many Hilton properties across the country, including the Hilton Hawaiian Village, DoubleTree Alana Waikiki Beach, The Ambassador Hotel Waikiki (Tapestry Collection), and several other Hilton brands. I can honestly say that Hilton Vacation Club The Modern Honolulu is one of the best values in Waikiki. The location is hard to beat. You’re within walking distance of Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Center, restaurants, and the marina, while still being away from the busiest and most crowded parts of Waikiki. The staff was outstanding throughout my stay—friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Service like that makes a huge difference and is one of the reasons I’d choose this property again. One of my favorite features is the Friday night Hilton Hawaiian Village fireworks show. If you have a poolside or marina-facing room, the view is fantastic without having to fight the crowds. The rooms were another pleasant surprise. They feel more modern, refreshed, and updated than many rooms I’ve stayed in at Hilton Hawaiian Village, including the Tapa Tower and Diamond Head Tower. Compared to several other Waikiki Hilton properties, The Modern Honolulu offers a much more contemporary feel while often coming in at a better price point. If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck in Waikiki, this property is tough to beat. Between the location, updated rooms, excellent staff, marina views, and easy access to everything Honolulu has to offer, Hilton Vacation Club The Modern Honolulu has become one of my favorite Hilton properties on Oahu—second only to the Rainbow Tower at Hilton Hawaiian Village for me. We had a fabulous stay in March 2026. We had been to the Modern several times before it became a Hilton Vacations Club location, so we were pleased that many of our favorite parts of the property were intact. SERVICE: The staff at this hotel truly made our stay wonderful. Austin Tamayo specifically was so helpful and kind, providing us with amazing recommendations for spots around the island. The front desk manager was also incredible throughout the stay. From the pool guys to the concierge staff, we will return because of the staff! ROOMS AND SPACE: Rooms are on the smaller side but always very clean and fresh feeling. The beds are pretty hard and not super comfortable, so do keep that in mind if you're a sensitive sleeper. There is a small business center-esque area by the lobby where there are 2 computers and a printer in addition to a section of small tables with outlets nearby. I had to work during the trip and this did the job! ACTIVITIES: Be sure to sign up for the free activities with the concierge. I enjoyed sunrise yoga, but there are also lei making and hula classes that would be fun! POOLS: My favorite part of this hotel is the pools. I love that there are two pools - the main pool and the quieter adult only pool on the upper deck. We were always able to find a spot at either one. LOCATION: Location is fabulous and convenient. Right across from an ABC store, walking distance to restaurants and shops, and a quick bus ride to Ala Moana (get a Holo card). You're also in the perfect place to watch the Friday night fireworks above the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Our stay was overall very nice except for 2 issues... The staff was very friendly and accommodating. When we checked in we were given the room next to the elevator core which made so much noise! Never heard something like that before. It was driving us insane, so we asked to change rooms which the staff did very quickly. Even though they gave us the furthest room on the floor, we could still occasionally hear the elevators but it was so much better and didn’t bother us anymore. The room was nice and spacious but the mattress was not the most comfortable however we still were able to get a good night sleep.

We had a great stay at Hilton Vacation Club. The service was excellent from check-in to check-out, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed to feel at home. Everything was well maintained, and the property provided a relaxing atmosphere for our vacation. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable getaway.
