Visitors frequently praise the resort's excellent location, well-maintained property, and friendly, helpful staff. However, a common complaint centers on the pool area, which some found overcrowded, particularly with children, and the rooms are described by some as outdated.

Pros: Rooms were clean. People nice and good city location. Nice pools, cafe, gym. Cons: Very low water pressure so forget about shampooing or getting an invigorating wake up shower or a good cleaning. Thermostat had a temp lock so you can only set it to barely cool. Rooms fine but need some upgrades. Worst: Palm tree trimmers started working at 6AM outside our room! So much for peace and quiet.

We didn't stay here though I wish we did but we hung out at the pool all day and they have fun games. Great pool great hot tub great food. I'm super happy that we chose this resort for our spa day

As someone who genuinely enjoys spa experiences and often recommends luxury resorts and wellness destinations to my clients in the entertainment industry, I was looking forward to spending the day at Scottsdale Camelback Resort. I always appreciate a good self-care day, especially in Arizona where there are so many beautiful resorts and spas to choose from. Unfortunately, while the experience wasn’t terrible, it also didn’t quite live up to the expectations I had going in. From the very beginning, the experience felt a bit off. Upon arriving for check-in and the spa tour, there was a female staff member in the back office on the phone who never acknowledged me or stepped away to assist. Instead, a male receptionist briefly pointed me in the direction of where to go rather than actually walking me through the space or making the experience feel welcoming. First impressions matter, especially at a resort and spa where hospitality and customer experience should feel elevated from the moment you arrive. The resort itself felt somewhat outdated overall. While parts of it were nice, there were several areas that felt older and in need of refreshing. The locker rooms were decent and clean, but even the locker system felt old-school with traditional locks that didn’t quite match the luxury spa atmosphere I was expecting. The outdoor spa area also lacked enough shaded seating, which was disappointing considering how hot Arizona weather can be. I expected a more comfortable and relaxing setup outdoors where guests could truly unwind between services. As for the spa amenities, the quiet room was peaceful, but again, it felt like missed potential. There were only regular chairs instead of recliners or lounge-style seating, which would have made the space far more comfortable. There were no snacks available, which is something many spas typically offer, even if it’s something light or simple. They did have tea available, but there were very limited options and no decaf selections, which I personally would have appreciated. Another thing that felt strange was the setup surrounding the quiet room. There were two treatment room doors connected near that area, and people were constantly going in and out, which interrupted the calming atmosphere. It didn’t fully give the peaceful, secluded spa energy I’m used to experiencing at higher-end resorts. The massage itself was okay, but honestly, it felt somewhat rushed. It wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t one of those memorable spa treatments where you walk away feeling completely renewed. I left feeling like it could have been more attentive and relaxing. I also dined at the restaurant and unfortunately found the food to be subpar. I ordered the breakfast chorizo bowl and personally did not enjoy it. The presentation and flavor just weren’t there for me. The coffee service was also delayed longer than expected. One thing that really stood out to me was that the breakfast served through the spa area came in plastic to-go containers rather than actual plates, which took away from the luxury experience. At a resort spa, small details like presentation matter. The showers in the spa area were fine, but the water never seemed to get hot enough, which was another small detail that added up throughout the day. Overall, my experience at Scottsdale Camelback Resort was okay, but not exceptional. There were definitely some relaxing moments, but for the price point and the reputation of Arizona resort spas, I expected a much more polished and elevated experience. The biggest thing missing for me was warmth and attentiveness from the staff along with those thoughtful luxury touches that truly make a spa day feel memorable.
