Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa

This is an excellent resort at the base of Camelback. The rooms are modern, spacious and well appointed. The grounds are beautiful but it is very hilly. The bell staff will drive you around the property in a golf cart if you're not up for walking. The spa is very nice but unlike many spas that have some co-ed waiting areas. Here they separate couples until the treatments are done. Not a big deal but good to be aware of if you like hanging out with your spouse before or after treatments. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and the views are very nice. The gym is nice as well, and there is a boutique/shop on the grounds. There are a couple of pools around the property in addition to the main infinity pool which is between the main lodge and the spa and the racquet sports area (tennis and pickleball). The in room dining has limited hours which is a little disappointing but not the end of the world. It ends at nine pm and is closed between meals as well.

Staff were polite and professional, service was above and beyond my expectations. The Jade and Elements restaurant was a culinary dream. I had the halibut and it is a seasonal item, off the charts delicious. The chocolate cheesecake was an experience like no other, smooth chocolate and not overly sweet. The spa was relaxing, Sonia was amazing!!!!! Thank you for making my 30 anniversary a weekend to remember. Set in the heart of the desert surrounded by mountains and breathtaking views.

What can I say, this resort is beautiful. 10/10. I will be back, staff is extremely friendly, and the fitness center is amazing. You can really get a good workout in. The views are beautiful and you get to see wild life

Excellent Cobb salad and the cheese burger was delicious. We had lunch there valet service was superb.

We will never go back to this place ever. If I could them zero, I would. Valet RUNS THIS PLACE and if you try to park here, they'll make you park down at the bottom of the hill and walk back up in the heat. Make sure you're not "rude" or they'll throw you off the property!!!!! Manager says they were "at capacity". Really? the parking lot was not even half full? Hey Sanctuary, not everyone likes their car beat up and riffled through by valet. Mother-in-law's 90th birthday RUINED! Manager couldn't give it a rest and went for vengeance forcing me to get up from an ongoing meal at a table of ten to throw me out over PARKING even after I asked to just valet the car, moved it to the lower parking lot, walked back up the hill, and ordered food! I've never been treated so badly anywhere ever. Manager was well aware there was a family gathering and a birthday, with balloons and all. Manager even came out and harassed me sitting in my car ON THE STREET!

Perfect spa and pool experience from start to finish. The massages and facials were fantastic. The facilities and changing rooms impeccable and well maintained. Haley at the pool was fantastic and made sure our drinks were never empty — and both she and Riley moved a fleet of umbrellas no fewer than three times throughout the afternoon to make sure the sun never touched my mom, who suffers from skin cancer. Could not have asked for a better afternoon, will definitely be back.

What. Stunning property and location but the service is appalling. We spent the day by the pool/rented a cabana and it was impossible to get service. The food took over 2 hours to arrive and the worst part? No real accountability from staff. A simple, we are so sorry-we will take off a drink would have been sufficient. 5 star location, one star service.

We rented a cabana, the largest one they have, for Mother’s Day and service was TERRIBLE!!!! Service was bad, 2 hours for food, charged for items we never got, they ran my card without showing me the bill…. And then used well it’s “Mother’s Day” as an excuse- YES.. we are ALL mothers!!!!!!! That is why we are here! When we spoke to management they stood in concrete and did nothing- they told us the policy was to not compensate. Wow- a 5 star hotel ? This used to be a favorite spot… service is everything and they failed… badly.

Amazing location, decor, atmosphere, service, and amenities. This was the perfect girls trip for R and R. The service was absolutely phenomenal. Only a few suggestions for improvement: Our dinner at elements (restaurant on site) was a little bland and the wine by the glass pricing was exorbitant. We went off property after the first dinner. I wished they had had a cold plunge and sauna. Spa hot tub was very small. Also felt it was a little odd to pay and tip on spa treatments before the treatment. Spa prices are VERY high so a mandatory pre-set gratuity feels off. Also would have been nice to have a balcony in the room- this feels like it should be available for all rooms at the price point.

I flew in for a weekend and wanted to enjoy the sun and spa at a “5-star” resort. They have good hospitality, sure. However I had to wait for a spot by the pool and the wings were terrible. Then my massage was the worst massage I have ever paid for. I told her I wanted it firm but it was soft and I was just paying to get moisturized for 60 minutes. Decent hotel vibes but I got a 2-star massage at a 5 star price. Value does not equal luxury here.
