Sobre este lugar Salt Yard Cafe & Bar

Salt Yard Cafe & Bar is a mainstream cafe, restaurant and bar at 285 Commercial Street, on the Old Port waterfront in Portland, Maine, attached to the Canopy by Hilton hotel. It covers coffee and breakfast through to dinner and cocktails. It is gay-friendly, not a gay venue, and Google reviewers give it 4.6 from about 440 reviews. Prices are moderate. Commercial Street is the busy harbourfront strip, so it gets crowded in summer and on cruise-ship days. Portland's gay bar, Blackstones, is a short walk uphill on Pine Street if you want a queer bar afterwards.

Mikey is an amazing bartender who is quick to make a special drink or something as simple as a beer and a pat on the back! I feel welcomed everytime.

Wait was too long, only stayed because of having two children with us and had enough activities to keep them busy. They automatically charged us 20% tip because we had 6 people, two of whom were 2 yrs and 5 yrs and they were sharing. Cappuccino was cold and my mixed green salad was more than half iceberg lettuce (told the manager and she said she would tell the chef, much good that would do me since I left half my salad! It was hectic and overrated.

This place is extremely crowded. The food may be worth the wait to some. Just be aware you will have to wait awhile. This place would have been 5 stars if 2 out of 3 of our drinks weren’t made incorrectly.

There were a lot of people. They forgot to bring us croissants, but that wasn't a problem. There was nothing memorable about this breakfast, except for how expensive it was.

This place ended up being such a great experience! The staff were all so lovely and helpful and the food was insanely good!! We got the fish and chips, gnocchi sardi, chopped salad, and short grain rice bowl. All were fabulous!! Highly highly recommend. There was so much seating and vibes were high.

My wife and I had a great time with our bartender Mikey. We stopped in for a quick drink before heading to a show at the state theater and had so much fun we missed the opener. He made us great drinks, told us all about his travels, and was always there right when we needed him. Great experience!

Heard about this place online not a "bad" experience we were kind of ignored at the register while two people stood there until somebody eventually came up and addressed us we ordered ham and cheese croissant and oddly enough it was cold and they refused to heat it up ? which is weird. coffee was good service was okay. Parking available.
