Booked an hour and a half session with my husband as a Valentine's Day gift to him. It was really lovely! Clean and well laid out, a wonderful private experience and such a cozy and calming atmosphere.

The sauna was lovely on the inside, both private and well organized. The owner was nice and met us outside to show us where to park. It would be helpful if information had been sent prior to arrival regarding everything that needed to be brought with us. Most wellness locations provide robes, towels, slippers, etc. in order to enjoy the location. However, Forest Haven does not have these items available readily. We had to request towels and were given very small ones that did not cover our bodies and were told the charge was $5 per towel for use (they did not end up charging us this). The transition from inside the sauna to the outdoor showers requires slippers/sandals and a large towel for privacy and cleanliness of your own body and the space. Having this information ahead of time would have made the experience more comfortable. That being said, the sauna itself was beautiful and the outdoor shower was lovely to cool off in. The experience was relaxing and overall private. The owner was also very kind. If 1/2 stars were an option, I would give 4.5 out of five. They only issue being clearer instructions prior to visit.

We’ve been looking for a more traditional sauna in PDX and this place checks all the boxes! It’s conveniently located in the west hills. You get access to a private area that has a picnic table, outdoor shower, and 2 buildings: the sauna building with a warming room, and a small building you can use to change, that has a warm shower, portable toilet and a sink. The area is surrounded by trees and feels nice and secluded. The sauna is well built, it runs nice and hot! You can throw some water on the rocks and get it pretty steamy! The owner offers sauna birch whisks for purchase, that are fun to use. There are also aromatherapy oils and little woolen hats available. I think this is a great place for those who enjoy a private traditional sauna without too many bells and whistles. It’s a place to get warm during wet and cold winter months!
