The Westin Sarasota

We arrived at 415 pm. And asked to check in. Check in is at 4. We were told we had to wait room would t be ready for an hour and since we had a suite nowhere to put us. We waited and were told the room was ready. Room was ok kinda twisty and turns but ok. We had dinner reservations downstairs and went to the bar. The restaurant and bar staff were ok. Did not go out of way to say hello or even acknowledge us. There was a large group on site but that shouldn’t matter. At bar spent 100 and restaurant spent 400. Room was 500$ for one night. With all spent 1000 plus valet for 2 cars. When I left I called for me car and went to check out. I was asked how things were. The person who checked me out explained that ambassadors get a late check out and they take priority. What…I paid full price for the room and I should be just as important. I left with a really yucky feeling. I went outside to retire my car. He handed me the keys and said here you go. It was parked in a valet spot not near and I had just tipped him 20$. He said do you want me to pull it up? Well isn’t that the point. No help loading car nothing. The service will stop me from coming here again. We are Westin/marriott vacation owners and at no property have we been treated or talked to in this manner.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Westin in Sarasota and we had a great experience for several reasons. The location is spectacular- in between the downtown area and St. Armand’s Circle/beach. The hotel was nice and clean, and the staff were phenomenal. Maria assisted us when we checked in, and she was incredibly kind, welcoming and personable. She went above and beyond to make our stay feel extra special for our anniversary and it made the stay even more memorable. The other staff we interacted with were all very kind and helpful. The hotel has a nice gym, spa, and rooftop with a pool and bar. The EVOQ restaurant in the lobby had great food, and there was a cute convenient store to purchase travel essentials/snacks. On top of that, the hotel had a shuttle that could drive you to the beach or other areas which was something we weren’t expecting or have seen at other hotels we stayed at. We love the Westin and have stayed at multiple properties throughout the country, and we will definitely stay at the Sarasota location next time we visit!

I stayed at The Westin Sarasota for my birthday, and it remains one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I have had. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and valued. I would especially like to thank the rooftop team for the thoughtful birthday surprise they prepared for me. It was such a kind gesture and made my celebration even more memorable. Our room was beautiful, spotless, and had a wonderful view. Everything throughout the hotel was exceptionally clean and well maintained, which made our stay comfortable and relaxing. One morning, my husband was unable to come downstairs for breakfast. The staff was incredibly understanding and allowed us to bring food to the room for him. It may seem like a small gesture, but it showed genuine care and attention to guests, and it is something I still remember and appreciate. The rooftop views are stunning, the pool area is beautiful and inviting, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is both elegant and welcoming. Even after all this time, I still remember how well we were treated. The kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail from the staff made a lasting impression on us. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend The Westin Sarasota to anyone looking for a beautiful hotel with excellent service and a team that truly cares about its guests.

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday at the Westin Sarasota and had the most wonderful experience! Maria, the front desk supervisor, went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity were greatly appreciated and made a lasting impression on our family. Thank you so much for helping create such a memorable celebration. We had an amazing time and look forward to returning again soon!

We were at the restaurant celebrating Mother's Day. The food was delicious, the setting is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly—Chef Stiven, in particular, stands out as being very kind and consistently attentive.

A strong meh, at a price point I therefore wouldn't recommend and wouldn't choose again. It's not a water or a beachy hotel, it's a downtown Sarasota hotel with glimpses of water, maybe. If you're after great views, you may want to keep searching. I had points a plenty to cover a two night stay and it still cost me $217. I opted for the free breakfast option as a Bonvoy member with status, but apparently that means only one day of free breakfast not two as I see a charge for the second day. Not explained well. Valet cannot be paid with points as I have with other Marriott hotels ($50 per day). Not explained well prior to check in. Destination fee cannot be paid with points ($25 per day). Not explained at all. It's irritating to have the final bill be something of a guessing game of additional fees and what this franchise owner decides they will or will not accept points for.

I was referred to the Westin Spa by my sister and I was expecting a great experience. But unfortunately, for the price I paid, this was not worth it. To start off I scheduled a couples massage for my husband's birthday and requested we be in the same room. When they called us, we were separated and I had mentioned this and apparently nobody knew what was going on. I had Cheryl as a massage therapist. She was very sweet but seemed frazzled. To start off she was running around my room too much, she kept pulling and tugging on the sheets jolting me out of the zen, it took her awhile to section off each area, she kept asking me if the leg pillow was where it needed to be, she used way to much oil to the point I felt like I was dripping in oil and unfortunately, I ask for medium pressure and just got a rub down with oil. She also couldn't remember me when trying to find me to bring me my champagne which was a little disappointing. My massage price was more than my husband's and I will not be coming back and with my experience I can't recommend this to anyone else.

Great place. Roof top pool. Great views.
