De Statie
Visitors praise De Statie for its excellent food and friendly, fast service, especially on the terrace in good weather. However, some find the prices high, with certain dishes being overpriced, and a few reviewers noted a lack of seasoning or a missing drinks menu.

Two days at the hotel; we (50+) are from the Netherlands. A great place! After all, we don't want the standard Van der Valk decor everywhere, do we? We enjoy a bit of pioneering. We had fun with the sloping roof and the bed corridor; the singing birds are clearly audible. (Also lots of movie channels on TV). A nice bath in our room too (though you do have to bring your own foam). The landlord, his assistant chef, and the housekeeper are to be praised for their dedication and friendliness/hospitality (though perhaps sometimes too tired for it). Delicious breakfast too! The unique location (a beautiful historic building) is just a 15-minute walk from Noorderkempen train station, which is 15 minutes from Breda, so we are in the Kempen 'foreign' very quickly. Excellent bus lines are nearby for going to the Westmalle Abbey, for example, or further into the country. E-bikes are available for rent 200 meters away, with an app that even a 65-plus year old can operate. In short, we have once again experienced a pleasant 'different' way of life, the way it is lived here. Highly recommended.
Nice small hotel, excellent breakfast and very nice people
