Gay in May Osnabrueck
About This Event
Gay in May has been held every year since 1979. Its organizers call it Germany's oldest queer cultural festival. It's a long weekend of readings, talks, drag and cabaret, mostly at the Lagerhalle on Rolandsmauer, and it ends with the Rosa Courage Prize, which has been given out since 1992. Some events are free, and the drag shows are ticketed (€19 in 2026). It's separate from CSD Osnabrück.
The 2026 edition ran 30 April to 3 May under the motto "Alles bleibt anders", and Hans Hengelein received the 35th Rosa Courage Prize. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
