A charming little hotel in Agia Marina. We stayed in a spacious two-bedroom apartment, which was ideal for our family. The kitchen area was compact and had just one socket, so it was a bit tricky if we wanted to use more than one appliance at a time, but it was well equipped and included a handy sandwich toaster. Having two bathrooms was a bonus. One had a bath and the other a shower, which made getting ready much easier. The only minor issues were the lack of sockets for shavers or electric toothbrushes, and the sink plugs didn’t quite work as intended. We didn’t end up reporting it during our stay, but we’re sure the staff would have sorted it quickly as everyone was very helpful. Also my husband and I found the beds not very supportive, and the pillows were a bit too high but this is personal preference. The pool area was lovely and clean. The water was a little too cool in late October and the pool went into shade from around 2/3pm. We didn’t try the breakfast so can’t comment on that part. The staff were all very friendly, and the cleaners did an excellent job throughout our stay. A nice touch was the shower and towel service available for guests with late flights. By the end of October many places in the area start winding down for the season, including most of the beach bars, but we actually enjoyed the quieter, more relaxed atmosphere on the beaches. Driving time to Chania is less than 20 minutes and highly recommended. Overall a great base for exploring the west of the island.
This is a lovely apartment complex. We went as a group of 2 families with teenage children. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Pool is small but was ideal this past week as it was very quiet. Loved the happy hour at the bar 3-5 and 9-11. Great service from the bar staff and fab cocktails. Cleaning staff did a great job especially the blonde lady who was so friendly and looked after the hotel cats. We had s great stay and would definitely return Thank you for a great holiday.
I was thinking about what rating to give for this hotel. The hotel is architecturally very beautiful, the rooms are ok in size, the pool is acceptable, the staff is friendly. The hygiene of the apartment was excellent. The breakfast has quite a sufficient selection, it is tasty, but after 7 days of boredom, they could add something new every now and then. What I didn't like: upon arrival, they informed us that our apartment was not available, with the excuse that they had "technical problems" which I assume were double booked rooms for that day. The next day we moved to our accommodation where the TV does not work, the shower is broken, the fridge door does not work well, the wardrobe door cannot be opened from the chest of drawers next to the bed. Some problems were quickly solved, but what was unacceptable to me was the 3rd auxiliary bed, which instead of the one in the pictures, we were given a bench upholstered for sitting, with a thin hard sponge, and I was just ignored by the receptionist. Thanks to the wonderful maid, who improvised a mattress from a quilt, the bed was more tolerable. There are also ants. And the back part of the hotel is often unlit at night, so you can hardly see anything when you go to the room.
