BOSTON HOTEL BARI

Wonderful hotel, clean and cozy, great location.

This is my worst hotel experience ever. Unfortunately, I never got to enjoy it because my reservation was canceled by the hotel on the very day of my arrival! My reservation had been made several weeks in advance, and I received an email at 12:13 PM, just before boarding my flight to Bari. The hotel attempted to charge my credit card, but my bank declined the payment, deeming it fraudulent. I immediately called the hotel at 12:30 PM, after confirming the payment with my bank. To my dismay, they told me the hotel was full; my room had already been booked by another guest! This cancellation is unacceptable! For one thing, the hotel had my phone number. They could have called me to resolve the issue. But it's so much easier to do nothing... Furthermore, according to the booking conditions, payment was supposed to be made upon arrival at the hotel. So, under no circumstances should this attempt at remote payment have been made. I should point out that the booking was made directly on the hotel's website, without going through an intermediary like Booking.com. Finally, the hotel employee told me it was my fault because my card wasn't valid... Of course, despite his promise to send me information and suggested solutions, I received nothing. So, we arrived in Bari at 5 pm for a very busy long weekend, with nowhere to stay! Luckily, we found a vacant B&B apartment that accepted us at the last minute. So, if you want a relaxing vacation, I highly recommend booking a different hotel.

Suitable for short stays. Rooms with tiny bathrooms and no closets. Exposed hangers, just like the single shelf for clothes, and no drawers, only one in the bedside tables. Lack of storage space, especially in the bathrooms. Very small common areas, breakfast sacrificed. Excellent cleanliness and friendliness.

A great hotel!

We stayed 3 nights at the hotel and both the cleanliness and the location were excellent. The staff were generally very good, with the exception of one person at reception who wasn't very helpful. My only complaint concerns the wardrobe where clothes were hung, which is completely inaccessible for shorter people unless you stand on a chair, which isn't advisable for elderly people like us. The rooms are very comfortable and lovely, and the location is perfect if you want to be close to everything but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle. It's one block from the Galleria Soldi, with many shops and restaurants nearby, and a 5-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain. Breakfast is served on a high floor with views of the domes. I'm giving the service 4 stars because, while all the staff were extremely friendly and polite, they spoke very loudly while cleaning the rooms and didn't seem to care at all about disturbing other guests with the noise. This is something that could easily be improved.
