DYMK Dancebar

DYMK - Does Your Mother Know - is where the Benidorm gay village goes when everything else closes. The biggest dance bar in the quarter, it runs two bars and a DJ across a room that only really wakes up around midnight and keeps going until 5am, with no entry charge. The soundtrack is dance and chart aimed squarely at a floor that wants to move, and the crowd is whoever is still standing from the earlier shift on Santa Faz and Alacant - which by that hour is a gloriously mixed bag of locals, tourists and off-duty drag queens. Its spot on Carrer d'Alacant puts it seconds from the rest of the strip, and in the village's nightly migration pattern DYMK is the final destination: bars first, Mercury next, DYMK until the birds start.
