habs queer basel is Basel's principal LGBTQ+ organisation and one of the oldest in Switzerland, founded in 1972 as the Homosexuelle Arbeitsgruppen Basel and renamed habs queer basel in 2017. It runs regular working and social groups — including groups for women and non-binary people, rainbow families and newcomers — publishes community information, and represents queer interests in the Basel region politically and culturally. For visitors it is the best first point of contact for finding out what is happening in Basel's scene.
