Hotel Helka

A very pleasant visit experience. The staff was really nice and knowledgeable.

The room should definitely have a body mirror, currently there is only a mirror in the toilet.

The best thing about it was the location, just a few minutes from the city center, and the comfort of the bed and the softness of the linens. The worst thing was the small size of the room and bathroom; you have to sit sideways on the toilet because there's not enough legroom. And especially the carpeting in some rooms. The breakfast is varied, and the staff is exceptionally attentive. There's mold in the shower; a thorough cleaning would be advisable to remove it.

The location, cleanliness, and interior are all wonderful, but above all, the staff are the best. The reception staff, breakfast staff, and cleaning staff were all very friendly and professional. I stayed for five nights and had such a comfortable stay that I was sad to leave. The breakfast had great variety and taste. There's a microwave, so it would be nice to bring in some prepared food. The sauna was also very relaxing, and I used it every day. I heard that it was originally a lodging facility for women, and perhaps that spirit of supporting others has been passed down. I would like to stay here again next time.

Really good hotel. The hotel room could not hear anything from the corridors or from other rooms. The bed and pillows were absolutely great to sleep on😍 Very good breakfast. Nice and friendly staff!

On training days in Helka. Friendly staff and a cozy hotel. No chrome and shiny stones but clean and functional. The room had a small balcony, a nice surprise. The food was good! The room was hot because we didn't realize how to adjust the air conditioning ourselves, our own stupidity then😀

You feel so welcome in this hotel, the kind of welcome I've only ever experienced in family-run establishments. Very friendly, personal, and accommodating. For example, check-out isn't until 12:00 and can even be extended. The room is practical and stylish, the breakfast buffet offers a very wide selection, and the products are of high quality. I would gladly return. Thank you.

We loved our time at the hotel Helka! From our initial welcome on arrival to our check out some days later, there was nothing to fault. Our rooms were spotless, well equipped, and the daily housekeeping exemplary. The rooms themselves were fitted with examples of some of Alvar Aalto' furniture and art, and the lovely reception and bar areas also had many examples of this great man's work and ethos, an aspect of the hotel that had temped us when looking for a hotel in Helsinki. The location was perfect, easy to walk to areas of interest, but close to tram stops as well. Finally..... the absolutely wonderful breakfast! Organic, local and imaginative food, so much to choose from and all utterly delicious - we hardly needed anything until the evening, except perhaps a cinnamon bun.... All in all, we would recommend the Helka unreservedly, and definitely plan to return.
