What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the Helka Hotel's excellent location, comfortable rooms, and outstanding breakfast buffet, with many highlighting the friendly and helpful staff. However, common complaints include small room and bathroom sizes, poor sound insulation due to thin walls, and issues with the sauna's operating hours. Some guests also noted a lack of a full-length mirror in the rooms and found the coffee quality to be poor.

We went with a group of colleagues to a conference and were very disappointed when, wanting to use the sauna, we returned early, despite the city holiday on Friday, June 26, to say goodbye in the sauna! Unfortunately, we were told it closed at 10:00 PM, when the monitor in the rooms showed 11:00 PM, especially considering that we had used the sauna from 10:30 PM two nights earlier! The 10 of us paid over €5,000 to the hotel during our work week. The staff should have respected the guest and the time indicated in the rooms for that hour of Finnish sauna use, knowing that we had spent our last evening of saying goodbye to colleagues in their Finnish sauna. My polite disappointment was met without even a hint of an apology, but instead, they told me to refer to what was written on the website. The young receptionist would have offered to let us in, but the older woman remained stubbornly silent. If I pay for services, I should be fully available, and with a smile and courtesy. I'm truly sorry that a lazy and unprofessional person took away our right to celebrate the end of the conference. In the room, it says the sauna is available until 11 pm, and I had the right to use it! We'll write to the mayor, who hosted us these days, about this sad end to our vacation! The sauna is one of the symbols of Finland! And then charging 9 euros for a can when it costs 3 euros outside is immoral! In short, the hotel is clean, but too many mistakes for the standard! I'm attaching a photo of the sauna opening hours in the room.
