What reviewers say

Visitors praise the hotel's central location, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and public transport, and many find the staff friendly and helpful. However, a common complaint is that the hotel appears old and tired, with some rooms showing damage and a lack of cleanliness, and others mention issues with shower water pressure and firm beds.

About this place Hilton Helsinki Strand

The Hilton Helsinki Strand is a modern hotel on the water, a reliable place to stay in the Finnish capital.

You’ll find it at 4 John Stenbergin ranta, a quick four-minute walk from the Hakaniemen metro. From there, the city opens up. The Ateneum art museum is a 13-minute walk, putting you close to some of Helsinki’s art offerings.

Rooms are contemporary, with WiFi (for a fee), a desk, minibar, and coffee and tea setup. Some have flat-screen TVs. If you want more, executive rooms mean free access to the Executive Lounge, which has a free breakfast and snacks all day. Suites are bigger, with living rooms, bay-view balconies, and kitchenettes—handy if you’re staying a while or like to be self-sufficient.

Breakfast costs extra. There are also nine meeting rooms on site. This Hilton is LGBTQ+-welcoming, and gives you the kind of service and modern touches you’d expect from a big chain, all with a waterfront view.

The hotel is very centrally located, has a good standard, and is only a 10-minute walk from the city center. There you'll find lots of shops, restaurants, and cafes. I enjoy staying there.

Decent location. The hotel was built in 1988 and it shows. It is in a terrible state of disrepair. The hotel is dirty, the elevators are gross, the wood furnishing are cracked and gross looking in terrible need of refurbishing. The shower water pressure is miserably pathetic, making it nearly impossible to feel clean, the rooms are not clean and the entire property needs substantial cleaning. I stay at Hilton properties across the world. The fact that this is allowed to be called a Hilton and not the lesser brand “Spark” is a disservice to Hilton members. Hilton should strike the name off this property. The pool is also ice cold with no hot tub. Definitely not worthy of the Hilton brand name.
