Reykjavik ISK 10:53 GMT+00:00 Molto sicuro per LGBTQ+
✓ Relazioni omosessuali legali ✓ Matrimonio egualitario ✓ Eventi Pride ⚖️ Iceland is one of the safest and most legally progressive countries in the world for LGBTQ+ people. Same-sex sexual activity has been legal since 1940, a single marriage law has covered all couples since 2010, and joint adoption has been open to same-sex couples since 2006. In 2009 Iceland made history when Johanna Sigurdardottir became the world's first openly gay head of government. The 2019 Gender Autonomy Act allows legal gender change by self-determination, including a neutral registration option, and in 2023 Iceland banned conversion therapy. Anti-discrimination protections cover sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics. Iceland ranks in the top three countries on ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Map and is regularly rated the most trans-friendly country in Europe. There are no legal restrictions LGBTQ+ travellers need to think about - public affection is a non-issue nationwide.
