The staff were excellent and very friendly, the room was very comfortable, and the location was superb! Highly recommended!

Room was small but was fine for our one night on the way to Machu Picchu. Short walk from the train station, felt safe walking there at night. Great service! Free breakfast. Good for the price. The river is nearby and is quite loud, which I enjoyed as free “white noise” at night, but FYI if you are sensitive to that sort of thing!

Terrible, they have photos of the hotel that must be from about 20 years ago, they don't reflect the current reality at all, and they have a horrible receptionist.

Descent room for the price. Hot water available. Toilet flush was broken so had constant running room and sink was blocked so had to change it. Staff very helpful an gave us a bigger room to accommodate due to faults at no extra cost.

The hotel offers good value for money (US$65 for a double room, breakfast included). We went in August, and I don't recommend traveling in July or August because hotels double their prices and aren't worth it. A negative point is that breakfast is served from 5:30 am to 8:30 am. After a tiring day of travel to Aguas Calientes, the least you want is to get up early. Another negative point is that the rooms have a very strong, unpleasant (damp) smell. I don't recommend it for people with respiratory problems or allergies. If you have other options, it's best to book them well in advance of arriving in Aguas Calientes. In conclusion, you can use this hotel as a last resort.

The quilt was damp. Some areas were moldy. The power went out at night. The bathroom exhaust fan was very loud. Overall, it didn't feel like a three-star hotel; it felt dated. Management and maintenance were poor. My least favorite hotel of my entire trip to Peru. Besides the convenient location, there were no other special features.

I genuinely have no idea how this hotel received so many glowing reviews — it feels completely misleading. My stay in early June (room #7) was easily the biggest disappointment of my entire trip to Peru. We arrived at lunchtime, the hotel’s restaurant was completely empty — the only one in the area without a single customer, every other nearby place was bustling, that should’ve been the first warning sign. The so-called “mountain view” is an absolute joke. The hotel is sandwiched tightly between two unfinished buildings, and from the 4th floor, all you can see is a bare mountain wall directly outside the window. Even worse, workers were using electric welding equipment right outside my window to fix a stair handrail, forcing us to keep the curtains shut the entire afternoon. The room itself was poorly designed, three beds were crammed into such a small space that could not even fully open a small suitcase. The TV didn’t work — staff briefly attempted a fix, then gave up. Out of all the electrical outlets, only two were functional. The water pressure in the shower kept fluctuating, especially frustrating after a long day of hiking the Inca Trail. But the worst part was the bathroom setup, the wall between the bathroom and bedroom didn’t even reach the ceiling — meaning every single sound echoed directly into the sleeping area. It was incredibly awkward, and honestly unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. Breakfast was the only redeeming part, while I don’t mind a simple breakfast, but the pancakes were served ice cold — not just cooled down :-( Actually all staff were friendly, but communication was still challenge — only one women spoke a little English during my 24-hour stay... Bottom line: this was the only accommodation I regretted in my entire 10-day trip across Peru. Don’t be fooled by the suspiciously positive reviews — save your money and your sanity, and book elsewhere.

Luckily, we only stayed one night at this hotel. We felt like we were staying at a construction site with a bed. The room was damp and smelled musty. All of our clothes were slightly damp the next morning. We were looking forward to a long, warm shower after the Inca Trail and were disappointed. The water pressure was barely enough to get wet; the water was lukewarm at best. The bathroom in general seemed rather unkempt, and there was clearly black mold in the ventilation. The breakfast was the best thing about this hotel. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The location, like all the hotels in this small town, is good.
