The Youth Project

The Youth Project is a Halifax-based charity that has supported lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth aged 25 and under across Nova Scotia since 1993, making it one of the longest-running organizations of its kind in Atlantic Canada. From its office at 2281 Brunswick Street in the North End, it runs peer support groups, social events, one-to-one support, and education and training for schools, community groups and service providers throughout the province. For young queer and trans people in Halifax the Youth Project is a cornerstone resource, offering a safe and affirming space to connect, find information about coming out, gender identity and sexual health, and access referrals to welcoming services. Travellers and newcomers with LGBTQ+ youth in their lives can point them here as a trusted first port of call.
