Best Western Dorchester Hotel

Our room looked like it was recently remodeled and looked very nice, but soundproof wise, it was not. We can hear the guests from accross the hall; thus, lacks the privacy. The linens and bedding was comfy, but the bed was a bit on the lumpy side. The room was rather small. It reminded us of hotel's room in Tokyo. We didn't realize that our mini-fridge was unplugged, so we called for service. The nice gentlman promptly resolved the issue. Bathroom amenities, coffee/tea, and a good size in room safe are included. The hotel is located in a convenient location for us to catch Hullo's ferry since Hullo's free shuttle pick-up location is right across the street. There are some restaurants, cafés, and a market within walking distances. The area itself isn't so great since there are a number of homeless people. It's fine for a one night stay but we wouldn't stay here for multiple nights.

Class reunion graduated in 1968. Staff was efficient and very helpful. Parking is a bit tight. Food was very good. Great experience.

Had a good room on the 4th floor with a great view of the harbor. Can be noisy with the street right below. Parking is super busy. You're lucky to get a spot. Overflow Parking is a few blocks away.

So loud here.. The AC is old, loud and turns on and off frequently, the fridge's compressor as well, but the major issue is there is no weather stripping on the suite entry doors and it's like the people in the hall are standing in the room with you when they talk and pass by. This created an environment that felt it had no privacy, safety or security. Got little sleep with other patrons enjoying the wee hours coming in and out due to this, staff didn't care. The staff's supply room was right out front our door and we were directly adjacent to the elevator. I can appreciate they were diligently doing their cleaning tasks early in the morning but it meant coming in and out of a space across from our suite consistently and with no sound barrier, it sounded like it was the bathroom door in our suite opening and closing repeatedly. Laundry is broken and there is not enough actual dedicated parking close by for the hotel to accommodate everyone. Hotels physical location is great so if that's a key factor it is ideal, beds aren't bad by any means but the building is ancient and online pictures don't reflect that. Had to fight for consist hot water in the shower, hair on the floor when we came in.. overall not a great experience.
