Resort Blue Chairs

Minimum spend of 350 for a chair on the beach. Which is fine if you could get service. Often elbow to elbow with other guests. But even when alone the service is always slow.

Excellent hubicacion

I had a great experience at Blue Chairs Resort by the Sea during my visit to Vallarta. The food was good, the service was attentive, and the shows are very entertaining, especially during Pride nights and events. The view is also excellent and definitely one of the resort's highlights, perfect for both relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere. However, I think the quality of the furniture and some areas of the resort could be improved and better maintained, as wear and tear is noticeable in certain spaces. I also feel that prices are significantly higher during Pride season compared to other times of the year, which ultimately affects the overall experience. Outside of peak season, the resort maintains good service and a pleasant atmosphere that continues to attract many visitors. With some improvements to the facilities and more reasonable prices during special dates, the experience could be even better.

Best bang for your buck

I can only vouch for the restaurant and beach area service was great and waitstaff remembered who we were from the previous day. Beach area was fine and service was quick. Water pressure to rinse off was bad but all in all it was good. Food was good but drinks were kind of weak. Stick to the beers.

Well, honestly, the hotel staff were great... the dredges were excellent, but as for the beach service... nothing like it... seriously... they had everything reserved for the gringos. I don't recommend it if you're a local. We went... and everything was reserved for gringos. For the first time, I didn't feel discriminated against for being gay, only for being dark-skinned. We paid for lodging with beach access and they denied it to us because everything was reserved for white people. Honestly, you're better off saving up a little more and going to the Mantamar.

I stayed at Blue Chairs Resort and overall it was just okay. The room was simple but comfortable. The AC worked great, the shower was nice, and it had everything I needed (no safe though). The bigger issue is the resort itself—it felt pretty rundown, and the pool water was green when I arrived. The rooftop scene has potential with music, drag shows, and dancers, but it was pretty quiet during my stay (I visited in April), so the energy felt low. The music is loud and you’ll hear it from your room if you’re trying to sleep early. Some of the dancers also spend time upselling massages or extras, so just be aware. Location is a big plus—right on the beach, close to other LGBTQ+ spots, and about a 10-minute walk to Zona Romántica. I felt safe walking around, and the beach service, drinks, and chairs were all good. Breakfast was included but very basic. The worst part was checkout—they tried to charge me for a random person who never stayed in my room. It felt like a scam and left a bad impression. Also, if you bring a visitor, make sure you understand their policies ahead of time—they may try to charge you. Overall, I’d give it 2 stars. Great location and decent room, but the condition, low energy during my stay, and checkout experience make it hard to recommend.

The hotel is in need of room renovations; some parts of the hotel are clearly in dire need of maintenance. The staff is very friendly, and the location is good. You have access to the Beach Club; the minimum spend is $350 per person. Towels for the beach club are provided at reception, and there are reclining chairs, palapas, and umbrellas available. The Beach Club waiters are very friendly. The ocean-view room has a beautiful view and costs approximately $3,200 per night. However, the furniture is quite old, as are the room door, the hallways, and the hotel as a whole, which definitely require a major renovation.
