What a gem! Rooms, grounds, resto-bar are all decorated exquisitely. Everything clean and bright. Wonderful staff. We stayed in the trailer. It was fun! Good thing we're small people! We'll definitely return if we're ever back this way!!!

Enjoyed our evening with another couple listening to the east-coast music of Lennie Gallant. The homemade soup was delicious. Especially appreciated our waitress who took the time to understand the food restrictions of one of our friends who is celiac (can not digest gluten). She explained that she had the same condition, and had encouraged the motel to provide gluten-free menu options. We truly appreciated that. :-)

I'd really like to give this property a 5 star review - the rooms are charming with an abundance of character. This is a unique gem that we stayed at a few years ago and I've recommended to many friends. However, the customer service experience on our recent visit was extremely disappointing, to the extent that I would caution others from staying here. I raised an issue regarding my booking when I first checked in. The front desk attendant said he would have to speak to the owner (Una?) and that I could connect with her later that evening. When I checked back at the front desk a few hours later, I was told that she was busy and didn't have time to talk to me (admittedly, they were hosting live music that evening and the place was filling up). Since we were staying for 2 nights, I assumed we could connect the following day. The next morning, I checked at the front again, and Una was not to arrive for another hour. We were leaving for the day, but we had dinner reservations that evening at the property, so I assumed we could connect then. When we were seated for dinner, I asked to see Una and the hostess said she was in the back office. I asked to be taken to her but was told that she would come to our table. We were at dinner for 90 minutes and Una never came by. The following morning, I spoke to a different guest agent at the front desk who knew nothing of my situation (keep in mind, this is a very small establishment). Una was not in, but I was told she would be in later in the morning before we checked out. When we returned from breakfast, Una was still not there and although the staff person had connected with her over the phone, they had not discussed our situation. Una would not be in before we were to depart, but the attendant assured me that she would follow up that day with me. It has now been 3 days and I have yet to hear anything. Bottom line, this is a great property if you have no issues. However, go in knowing that if any issues arise, they will blatantly ignore you.

Saw Grapes of Wrath last night at the charming Oiseau Bleu at Motel Chelsea. The sound quality of their superb voices and guitar was fantastic. Such an intimate venue. We will continue to frequent live music there again and again! Oh and the food and service was just what we needed. 😋
