Halsted's Bar and Grill

Service is not that great as we aspect. We were waiting for appetizers over 45 mins!!! There were only 6-7 tables. So it wasn't that busy! I will never recommend this place to anybody.

Since it opened, Halsted's Bar + Grill has suffered from very inconsistent service. On some visits the staff person was fantastic, food arrived quickly, and the atmosphere perfect. Other times (and too often), waitstaff were nonexistent, food delayed, drinks unfilled, and just generally a mess. The back patio is great area to relax and the sidewalk seats perfect for people watching. If you do not mind gambling with your food, it can be an enjoyable experience. If you are hungry it may be best to try another of the many fine restaurants in Lake View.

The Mac and cheese is as delicious as they make our out to be! I love that the bacon is cooked separately so that it's nice and crispy. The chips in the chips/salsa/guac and nachos are cooked fresh in house which makes them super tasty! The music is run by one of the digital apps so we heard a lot of repeated songs, sometimes in a row, because there were jokesters and they didn't put the kibosh on it which was annoying.

After a few visits, it's clear this establishment does not keep customer service near the top of their list of priorities. A couple times the waiter decided not to write down our groups order (an attempt to impress). Both times the orders came out wrong. They don't seem to care to check up on your order or a refill on drinks unless you flag them down. Prices are high for their entrées. There is nothing that stands out from something you can get either at Sonic (seriously, a lot of the same food) or KFC.

Halsted's has one of the best patios in East Lakeview/Boystown. They have comfortable seating and seating for dinner/lunch/drinks. The drinks are fairly priced and the food is pretty decent. The staff is friendly and makes a great cocktail. This is a great place to catch a game with friends.

GREAT patio! Didn't have any food, but the service and atmosphere were great! If you want a chill place to hang out with friends and enjoy the weather, then you should definitely check out this spot.

I have to say, after visiting this place a few more times, I've become really disheartened by the staff. Some of the people who work there aren't customer service oriented, or even friendly for that matter. I've wandered in here once or twice by myself, because it's down the block from my apartment, and sit at the bar. The guys that work there don't ever check up on you and sometimes take away beer glasses that are "almost" empty. (Hey, I paid for those last two gulps you just threw away!) The food remains average at best. The grilled chicken tenders are most decent thing I've had on the menu...and it's an appetizer! C'mon guys, get it together!

This is a fun space, especially during the summer months when you can sit out on their large back patio. The food is good, an array of sandwiches, salads, burgers, and a few pasta dishes. Unfortunately this restaurant has always struggled with service. Never determined why, but service is often very slow, and the wait staff often seems indifferent.

Halsteads is a great location for a drink or place to eat. The menu has a good variety and the prices are reasonable for the area. The outdoor patio out back is one of the best in the city to hang out with friends and just enjoy a Chicago summer.

Good food - very slow service. But they comped our drinks, so I guess that is nice.

Great trivia night. Great food specials before 7 Mondays through Thursdays.
