Residence Inn by Marriott West Orange

Our suite during our recent stay was truly exceptional. It was very spacious, clean, and most importantly, quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. We were grateful for the full kitchen, which served us well during our two-night stay. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, and we appreciate their service. Very nice pool area. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Streaming TV doesn't work; the staff explains that they are having a problem with their supplier. So avoid this hotel if you want to watch YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. They try to upsell you enhanced internet. Amazing that in 2026 hotels are still trying to upsell the internet.

David was so pleasant and helpful when they were sold out for Easter weekend. Ladies at breakfast were also sweet and efficient.

Unsafe during construction, a family member cut his finger on the railing. Some of the tables in the common area are improperly assembled and far too easy to topple. This is an area where people drink coffee, so the coffee tables should be stable enough to trust with hot liquids. Some of them are assembled with the short legs aligned with the table's long side, making the tables dangerously wobbly. A family member left a coat in a closet and staff told her it wasn't there, but when she checked the closet herself the coat was there. The door seals weren't taped when the door frames were painted, so the door seals are painted which is improper. They produce a loud noise when opened from the painted door seals, and often takes chips of paint with it. The construction quality of the rooms and hallways is very poor, with lots of dead spots on the floor. The moulding is so improperly fit that there was a spot where I could fit my pinkie tip underneath. The fridge was too close the microwave and I couldn't open the microwave door. The poor quality of its individual features is a shame, because it's a beautiful building in a beautiful location and the staff were very kind.

David , the person checking me in was phenomenal! He made me feel at home and part of the Marriott family! He went above and beyond and I will come back here as often as I can! Matt was also great! You have wonderful people working here and it makes all the difference! Thank you! Karen Mitrowitz

I was disappointed with the construction and no restaurant for breakfast

They are in the middle of a renovation, so I'm looking forward to new room amenities and technology. They have very nice rooms currently so can't wait to see the new versions.

Room was absolutely disgusting, 1 of the beds had bed bugs, with the sheets having tons dead skin, hair, stains, and other gross things. Floor was clearly not cleaned or vacuumed at all with hair and band-aids all over the floor. Fans in the bathrooms didn't work, and bathroom lights would flicker on and off. Hotel looked nice on the outside but was extremely disgusting and clearly not maintained at all.
