Positives: free parking, free breakfast, free wifi, helpful staff, clean, big rooms Negatives: Third floor rooms struggle to stay cold, they could prob do with ceiling fans imo. The Pool’s chlorine also made my skin super itchy until I showered after. Stayed as part of a wedding block. It did the job.
The hotel itself was good, and overall we had a pleasant stay. However, our checkout experience was disappointing. I called the receptionist to ask if we could have a late checkout until 4:00 PM, and she responded in a rude manner and simply said no. After that, multiple staff members kept coming to our door, which felt unnecessary and very uncomfortable. We have stayed at many hotels before, and this is the first time something like this has happened to us. It felt embarrassing and insulting. Better communication and more respectful customer service would have made a big difference.
Where to start well as of June 2026 this hotel under construction, dust everywhere, the room was old with a smell if you can get over the noise maybe you can relax in a afternoon after a long flight. Breakfast is average a little below Marriott standards I used to travel a lot stay in many Marriott hotels couldn’t believe this was part on the chain. This is the second disappointing from this chain maybe it’s time to look elsewhere, this hotel is terrible on all different ways.
They are redoing the place but bits still beautiful and nice the suite has a full kitchen, living room and plenty of room for little kids to roam around. I love this place.
Excellent breakfast, updated check in, waiting area & breakfast dining in ground floor with luxury finishes as part of the renovation; 5 mins drive to Whole Foods & Target; 8 mins to Montclair makes it fantastic location. Love the outdoor area- fire pit and garden seating - so peaceful.
There are simply not enough accolades I can give to the Residence Inn West Orange! From the beginning stages of planning our wedding weekend to the actual wedding day, Soledad and her entire team worked tirelessly to provide constant communication and impeccable service to our 100+ guests. The hotel itself is beautiful and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax before the big day. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the rooms were immaculate, the breakfast team did an amazing job providing a wonderful assortment of delicious food for our guests, and the accommodations and amenities were exceptional. This is definitely a 5+ star hotel with an all-star staff!
