Gaslamp Plaza Suites

Really enjoyed my stay here. Everything is clean, the service was great, and the location was perfect. Really enjoyed the rooftop area as well.

They will charge for days you never stayed there. Beware.

Nice clean rooms. Building is old, but in a charming way. Beware that the valet parking is $56 overnight, the paid parking lots nearby are not any better. Valet service was good however.

You get what you pay for here. A little cheaper than staying on the waterfront or in a big name hotel. However, a few things to note. The location isn't the best... Barely in the gaslamp district, bordering on a bad neighborhood. Many homeless all around and borded up storefronts; i felt unsafe walking 3 blocks away to a CVS. That's all my fault for not researching more. The 2 elevators are old and sketchy and require a card reader to use which often doesn't work the first couple of tries.. everyone in the hotel including cleaning people use the elevators which means sometimes you'll have to wait several minutes for a free one. Room was spacious, but old and outdated. However the room was clean and well stocked. Blanket situation was odd. No comforter, but rather a thin blanket sandwiched in between 2 white sheets. Walls are very thin. I could hear a man snoring in the next room which kept me awake and made me self conscious about making too much noise. Windows were inoperable. One other thing: The hotel no longer has a continental breakfast despite travel sites (hotels.com where we booked) saying that it does. Again, that's my fault; the hotel website clearly doesn't mention anything about breakfast. They do have a rootop area with coffee, but the area was smelly and not worth the elevator trip for the mediocre coffee IMO. Giving this hotel a generous 4 stars because most of my gripes were things i could have looked up had i more time.

This hotel is underrated. The front desk was very nice. Checked me in early and gave me a free upgrade in order to do so. One of the very few hotels that has housekeeping everyday. Room was great, clean, and the rooftop is a great place to watch the sunset.

It is a beautiful hotel. We were blown away by the suite. 2 bathrooms and 2 beds with a lounge area.

Friday's street noise made it difficult to sleep.

We were greeted by a beautiful angel by the name of Merry. She personally ensured that we felt welcomed and gave us wonderful recommendations about ways to make our stay stress free. There was another gentleman by the name of Pablo. Great place to stay. Clean rooms. Good vibes!
