Porto Vista Hotel

We stayed for 1 night, came to watch the Dodgers vs Padres game. From the moment we got out of the car for Vallet service everyone was so nice! And helpful. Front desk service was amazing as well. Room was clean, quite, had a fridge and microwave and big bath tub. I love how close it's to little Italy and the harbor. Definitely will be coming back.

Zero stars for the front desk customer service. The morning of Saturday May 16, I politely asked the woman at the front desk if there was a microwave I could use since my room didn’t have one. She immediately dismissed me and just said “no” with an attitude. If you’re going to work in customer service at a hotel, you should at least be friendly and welcoming to guests instead of acting annoyed by simple questions. The hotel itself was average aside from the convenient location, but because of the rude service, I would not recommend staying here.

Beds were so squeaky we could barely sleep and the pillows were hard and old. Overall the hotel felt very run-down. There were extremely loud neighbors, exacerbated by the lack of sound insulation. The soap dispensers were rusting and gross. And generally, the rooms just felt dirty. We did not have a pleasant experience and we would not return.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times and only because it is cheap and good location. The rooms are basic, and usually not the cleanest but that has never really bothered me due to the price/location. I stayed a couple weeks ago was charged damage fees for a ridiculous reason. Pay the extra and stay somewhere that can afford basic room necessities.

EDIT However the staff and everyone was great, i couldn't get in contact with the property for a month to get an invoice!!!! It;s really disspointing considering the fact that the staff employed as well as the manager were really helpful during our stay. Honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a hotel. Rooms have no windows There is no room service. We stayed two nights and when the room did not get cleaned, the employee told me it was my fault for not having asked. I answered that this was my first time in my 57 years of travelling, and was sarcastiullay responded: well it took you 57 years! The AC unit was VERY noisy The bacon included with btreakfast literally smelled like wet dog. None of us could eat it. If you have a vehicle, be prepapred to pay $50 per night for valet parking. The hotel offers no parking. Absolutely horrible service.

Very disappointing experience with Porto Vista Hotel. A deposit was taken during my stay, but instead of being released, it was charged as a final transaction without any explanation or authorization. I was not informed of any additional charges at check-out. I have sent multiple emails and contact forms — can you please respond? I am still waiting for a resolution. Be careful with deposits if you stay here.

Nice rooms, and a very good location.

My room was cancelled even though I had called early in the day and the front desk told me everything was set to go. Upon arriving they said they could reinstate my reservation for an extra $100. We didn’t want to pay a high price for an average hotel, so we looked elsewhere. THEN the valet said we owed him $20 to bring out our car even though we had only been there less than 15 min. Very disappointed with this experience.

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I stayed from 3/25 to 3/27/2024 for work. It’s a decent place with good customer service. When people are walking outside of your room you will hear them as if you were outside with them haha and this is why we have TVs. Turn it on and rest in your small room. Good for one person. Very cozy and no bugs given how sensitive I am to bedbugs. I had anxiety when I read the reviews but I didn’t find most of them to be true. I didn’t enjoy the carne asada tacos at the hotel but I’m sure if I went with the fish it would’ve been better. Very good 3 to 3.5 star experience.

Dirty, poor service, deceiving photos, decent location. Smallest pool ever, it's a joke. Asked for housekeeping 4 times, never got any our entire stay. Soap and shampoo dispenser are rusty and grimey.
