Washington Plaza Hotel

Old hotel but clean and great service!!

Great experience. I checked in pretty late, and the front desk staff member was incredibly nice. Seeked out an ideal room for my multi-day stay, which meant upgrading to a huge unit with a balcony. Above and beyond right there. The facilities are excellent, including a new lobby and a gorgeous outdoor pool. The rooms themselves are comfortable, like I said, spacious too. Decor could use some updating, but I don't mind the 70s look of things too much. Room service was on top of things, and the daily complementary water was a nice touch too. The door didn't feel the most secure, that's one thing I would definitely suggest improving. But, overall, this place delivers a great stay. Prime location in DC too. Would definitely recommend!

First, I want to highlight several positives. The location is outstanding, the staff were consistently friendly and professional, and the rooms were clean. If those are your primary priorities and you do not plan to spend much time in your room, this hotel will likely meet your needs. I ultimately rated the property three stars because my overall experience was average. While the service and location were excellent, the physical condition of the hotel significantly impacted the overall value. Nothing in this review should come as a surprise to management, as many of these issues are readily apparent throughout the property. My room was quite small. For a short stay, the size may not be a major concern, but for a stay of nearly a week—especially when working from the room—it felt very cramped and limiting. The hotel itself is noticeably dated. The one notable exception was the lobby-level restroom (at least the men's restroom), which appeared recently renovated and was modern, attractive, and well-maintained. (I was traveling on behalf of an organization so I did not have a say in the hotel or room size.) I was also somewhat surprised that the only operating bar was the outdoor bar, which offered just four barstools. While there was additional outdoor seating available, solo travelers often prefer sitting at a traditional bar rather than at a table, and the setup felt somewhat limited. The pool area, however, was well maintained and provided a pleasant space to relax. Within the guest rooms, the hotel appears to embrace its age through its décor and character. However, there comes a point where age and wear become difficult to overlook. The carpeting in my room was visibly frayed and in need of replacement, and signs of repeated patching and repairs were evident throughout the space. Some fixtures also felt outdated, including unusually low sinks and older toilets that gave the room a distinctly dated feel. Overall, the hotel benefits from an exceptional location and a strong staff, but the aging facilities and small room sizes make it difficult to justify a higher rating. With some meaningful renovations and updates, this property could better align with the quality of its service and location.

Great value hotel with super friendly staff. Nice swimming pool and plenty of sun beds and towels. A bit further out to main sites in Washington but still easy to get to and shortish walk to the metro.

I’ve been staying at Washington Plaza for a work conference for 3 consecutive years, and this time has definitely been the best. The staff is always so kind and helpful. Belene helped me to do two separate check ins earlier than she had to, simply out of courtesy. I wheeled in straight off a flight and was warmly accommodated when it would have been more than appropriate to ask me to wait. The common areas have been freshly renovated and the food & beverage, which I always loved, has been the best yet this trip! It’s really all the little touches for me, like Belene’s kindness and having my room made, even when I sleep in and leave later. Love this place!

Stayed at this hotel for the UFC Freedom 250 fanfest. It's about less than a mile walk to the Elipse and is located near a CVS and Wawa liquor store so that was super convient. The price was good and the rooms are good. Rooms aren't large, but does the job for sleeping. 32 inch tv, fridge and standard everything else. No complaints here and would stay again.
