この場所について Sandy Bay Beach

Sandy Bay is an isolated beach below Llandudno on the Atlantic side of the Cape Peninsula. For decades it has been popular with naturists and gay men. There's no road down to it. You park at Llandudno and walk about 20 minutes along a sandy path, and there are no toilets, shade or kiosks, so bring water and sun protection. The Atlantic is cold all year. The rules have tightened. In March 2026 SANParks said Sandy Bay is not a designated nudist beach, and in September 2026 signs went up warning that public nudity can lead to fines. Wear swimwear and keep anything more private to yourself. Don't leave valuables in the car, and avoid going alone late in the day.

One of the top nudist beaches I have visited. The water is crystal clear and the white sandy beach give it a tropical feel. Certainly a must see for any visitor who visits Cape Town and South Africa. Finding parking close by was difficult, but the security took good care of our car. I was fully nude the whole day and loved every second of it. Something to take notice of though is groups of young boys who wander up and down the beach and continually asked me for money, I do not know if they just wanted a better look at me, but I got the feeling that they would not hesitate to pinch belongings if it is left unattended. The people are friendly and welcoming and I had a lot of interesting conversations with fellow tourists and locals alike. Over all my experience at Sandy Bay in Cape Town was extremely pleasant and I will certainly visit it again if I have the chance.

Beautiful sandy beach, there is little going on and I loved that it is completely up to you whether you enjoy it naked , in a swimsuit or hiking clothes. A gem in the Cape region if you are looking for peace and nature

Very quiet residential area and relaxing beach to chill with friends. A pedestrian way connects the beach with the main road. Then, you have to consider that the neighborhood is quite windy

I went on a Sunday and it was crowded. For a change it was a mixed group not just Gay men lurking. It was about 50/50 nude and clothed visitors. I loved swimming and tanning naked on the beach and felt better not just being around men. Woman doesn't have to feel weird by men watching them because i was also watched by men but decided let them watch and not faze me. The previous time i was there of the people there was rude to me telling me to go somewhere else while i was minding my own business. The walk back feels longer but was worth it. I will go back again soon.

A wonderful, yet streneous out-and-back hike along the coast from Sandy Bay, near Llundudno. Hikers are advised to approach the wreck with caution, and avoid swimming in the rip-currents around the wreck. Take enough water and pack lunch for a picnic at the wreck! The BOS 400 was a French derrick/lay barge that ran aground while being towed by a Russian tugboat on June 26, 1994 after the towing cable snapped during a storm. The shipwreck is considered a total loss, and BOS 400 remains a wreck today, with a large crane and part of the superstructure visible above sea level. The wreck is slowly disintegrating due to exposure to the elements.

Gorgeous beach, with lovely fynbos trail to get there. I wouldn't recommend going alone, especially as a woman, I felt quite unsafe. Was hoping for a safe naturist space, but there were a couple of lurkers/creeps. One man was watching me from the rocks, and followed me when I got up and moved to another spot to escape him

A lovely sandy white beach with crystal clear water and massive boulders stretching into the ocean at various points. The beach was very busy when we visited but was clean and everybody was friendly. I would not advise it for single woman because there where people on the hiking trail to the beach and sometimes walking up and down the beach that looked like they might be up to no good. We enjoyed sunbathing and swimming in the nude and the locals freely shared their knowledge about the area and other nice destinations to visit. I for one will definitely go back and spend more time on Sandy Bay

This is our MOST FAVORITE beach to visit when in CT. The way nature unfolds with the mountains around you and the beautiful, icy cold Atlantic Ocean is breathtaking. You can just emerse and spend the entire day at the beach not wanting to leave....EVER!! People go about their business and dont bother with you too much. The hike to the beach takes about 25 minutes and is a great workout. Make sure you double, triple check your car is locked and TIP THE CAR GUARD!! He will look after your car while you are enjoying the beach. TRUST ME!!

A phenomenal bay perfect for hiking, swimming, or simply relaxing and enjoying the sound of the waves. From Llandudno, you can easily walk to the beach in 15 minutes. Along the way, large rocks invite you to climb. There are two parking lots in Llandudno; if you use the first one further up the hill, you'll need to descend some stairs. The lower parking lot is the starting point for the Sandy Bay hiking trail.

It's best not to expect anything. It's more than a 20-minute walk from the parking lot. The round trip alone is very tiring. About 90% of the people you'll find there are elderly men. There's no point in going there expecting anything.
