Gay Bars in Alice Springs: The Honest Version
Alice Springs has no gay bar, no gay club and no regular queer night. We checked Travel Gay, Spartacus, misterb&b, GayCities, Star Observer, QNews, Google Maps and local news in October 2026, and none of them list one; Tourism Australia says the same. Earlier versions of this page described Uncles Tavern and The Rock Bar as gay bars. We found nothing to support that, and we've removed them.
What there is instead
The pubs around Todd Mall and Gregory Terrace (Uncles Tavern, The Rock Bar, Bojangles, the Todd Tavern) are ordinary country-town venues with a mixed crowd. Same-sex couples can have a drink anywhere, but nothing here is aimed at a queer crowd. Outside festival time, people meet through friends and the apps.
fabALICE week
The exception is late March, when the fabALICE Festival brings four days of drag, cabaret, a disco and a parade down Todd Mall. Opening night is at Crowne Plaza Lasseters, the casino from the finale of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. The 2026 festival ran on 26 to 29 March; 2027 dates hadn't been announced at the time of writing.
Gone but still Googled
Bar Doppio, a lesbian-owned café in the mall, Febe's Bar and the Friday gay drinks at the Alice Springs Resort turn up in Star Observer coverage from around 2008 to 2010. None of them has any trace today. Epilogue Lounge on Todd Street, a mainstream café and rooftop bar, showed as temporarily closed on Google in October 2026.
For sexual health and PrEP, see Clinic 34 and NTAHC, both on or just off Todd Mall. Last verified: October 2026.
