Kulkwitzer See

Kulkwitzer See, known locally as 'Kulki', is a former open-cast mine on Leipzig's western edge, now a clear-water lake for swimming and diving. Its wooded south-eastern shore has a long-standing but quiet gay cruising reputation. It's less busy than Cospudener See, and activity depends heavily on weather and season, mostly warm afternoons in summer. The lake is shared with families and ordinary bathers, so stay on the wooded fringes and out of sight of the main beaches. Go in daylight, tell someone where you are, and take no for an answer. Same-sex activity is legal in Germany, but public-decency laws still apply.
