Hinsegin Nordurland (Queer North Iceland)

Hinsegin Norðurland (Queer North Iceland) is the LGBTQ+ association for Akureyri and the north of Iceland, and works with the national organisation Samtökin '78. It runs social evenings, meet-ups and peer support, and does queer education work with local schools. It is also involved in organising North Iceland's Pride events. Akureyri has no gay bar, so this group is the most direct way for visitors to meet the local queer community. Its listed base is Rósenborg, a community building in town. Meeting times change, so check the Facebook page before you go.
