A charming place. We sat outside and everything was very welcoming. The food was delicious, 5-star, and the service was impeccable, with a very friendly yet professional head waiter. I highly recommend it. We'll be back!

Delicious food and super friendly and professional staff

It was one of the best experiences I had in Bologna, but things took a turn when I checked the receipt the next day. We had been charged for a dish we never ordered! In fact, an unrequested dish had been brought out along with the *primi* (first course), and we had even confirmed twice at the time that we hadn't ordered it. Yet, the cost of that dish hadn't been removed from the final bill. The older staff member who took our order and brought the bill was generally indifferent and, at times, even came across as rude. Aside from that incident, however, I would have been completely satisfied with our final dinner in Bologna; everything else—from the food to the service provided by the other staff—was perfect.

A wildly inconsistent experience. Service quality varied greatly depending on staff with some not knowing anything about their food or wine. On arrival, the greeting wasn't friendly at all but the same person became more friendly later on. Food itself was good and the pacing was fine. Prices were reasonable considering the quality.

The older man with glasses is ABSOLUTELY NOT FIT for working with the public! Rudeness is unheard of, both with us and especially with two very polite foreign tourist couples in front of us when we arrived. Even though we had reservations, he was even annoyed that we asked about our table after waiting half an hour. He was annoyed, not us. He didn't even apologize to a French gentleman, a truly distinguished man, who pointed out his inappropriate behavior. Only excuses like "customers are rude" (but certainly not those who were subjected to the behavior, or that the staff don't want to work, etc.). ABSURD. It ruins the good work in the kitchen. Even the owner, who came to take our order, wasn't exactly polite. I've reviewed 84 businesses, many restaurants, some even "starred," but yours is the one I gave the lowest rating! My average grade for others is 4.3, so I don't understand what you're referring to... you'd look much better if you took responsibility and apologized for your unacceptable behavior!

An absolutely phenomenal dining experience from start to finish! 10/10! Where do I even begin?! From the incredible food and beautiful atmosphere to the outstanding service, everything about our evening at San Pietro was exceptional! We ordered the tortellini, Margherita pizza, beef carpaccio, wine, and tiramisu, and I can confidently say that every single thing was a 10/10! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. We’ve travelled throughout Italy and eaten at so many wonderful restaurants, but this was genuinely one of the best meals we’ve had! What made the experience even more memorable, however, was the people. The owners and servers were absolutely incredible. Their warmth, kindness, attentiveness, and genuine willingness to help made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. You can truly tell how much pride and passion they put into their restaurant, and that level of hospitality makes all the difference. I can genuinely say I would come back to Bologna just to eat at this restaurant again! That’s how much we loved it! If you’re ever visiting Bologna, do yourself a favour and make a reservation at San Pietro. They get incredibly busy, and for good reason! This is an absolute must-visit. Thank you to the wonderful owners and staff for such a memorable evening, an incredible meal, and an experience we won’t forget. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough! ❤️🇮🇹

Terrible, terrible, terrible! I'm giving it one star only because there's no way to give it less. We arrived at 9:00 PM and were only served one menu, even though there were two of us. When we asked if we could order the starters first and then the main courses, the owner curtly refused, demanding that we order everything at once. In an aggressive tone and getting agitated, he told us, "It's my restaurant, I decide!" This was arrogant and completely disrespectful. We ordered tagliatelle with ragù, which tasted very sour, and tortellini with parmesan. The owner kept walking past us to check if we were finished, rushing us. For our second course, we ordered lamb ribs, which arrived smelly and charred, with potatoes soaked in oil. While we were going to the bathroom, they completely cleared our table, leaving us with the dessert menus already. All this to clear the table as quickly as possible and seat other customers. Terrible service, poor quality food, and rude staff, especially the owner, who was rude and aggressive. We paid €83 for a bottle of water, a Coke, a beer, tagliatelle with meat sauce, tortellini with parmesan, and lamb ribs with potatoes. Amazing value for money. Absolutely not recommended; we'll never go back! TOURIST TRAP

We went to Ristorante San Pietro for lunch based on the good reviews and hadn't made a reservation. The first waiter attended to us in a somewhat idiosyncratic way – somewhere between genuinely direct and slightly pushy, but definitely with a sense of humor. When my girlfriend couldn't decide on an order, he leaned over the menu and said something like, "Have this or that." That was at least entertaining. The food also arrived surprisingly quickly. Unfortunately, my lasagna was quite dry, very doughy, and the flavor was heavily dominated by the béchamel sauce. Luckily, I asked for ragù to go with it, at no extra charge. That improved the dish considerably. While the ragù wasn't exactly an extraordinary culinary experience, it was certainly good. My girlfriend's seafood pasta was also tasty, though overall more solid than outstanding. The service after the meal was less pleasant. Another waiter tried to clear our plates several times while we were still eating. He finally took them away later while we were still chatting. After that, we were neither offered coffee nor was any other contact made with us. At the same time, we observed two other guests at the next table receiving exceptionally attentive service and even being offered a selection of different bottles of limoncello. Of course, it's impossible to judge from the outside why the service was different there. However, we were left with the impression of not being particularly welcome. This is a shame, because the location, the ambiance, and the food were quite good. Ultimately, for us, a successful restaurant visit also includes feeling welcome as a guest. Based on this experience, we would probably choose a different restaurant on our next visit to Bologna.
