Društvo ŠKUC (Magnus / Roza klub)

Društvo ŠKUC (the Students' Cultural Centre) is a Ljubljana arts and civil-society organisation with a long LGBTQ+ history. Its gay section Magnus, founded in 1984, and lesbian section Roza klub / LL, from 1987, were among the first queer groups in the former Yugoslavia and in Eastern Europe. Magnus also launched the Ljubljana Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Based at Stari trg 21 in the Old Town, ŠKUC runs the ŠKUC Gallery, publishing and cultural programmes, and is closely tied to the queer clubs at Metelkova, Tiffany and Monokel.
