Basic hotel. We had room 10. In the morning the staff stand outside the window chatting and smoking. So a bit loud, not much sleep. Breakfast was big but not great quality. It was clean and had parking. But over priced in my opinion. Good location

Unfortunately our stay did not get off to a great start as there was no free parking as advertised on booking.com. When we arrived there was a sign saying If you book direct you get 20% off and guaranteed free parking so make sure this is what you do. We asked if there was free parking nearby and were told no, because we were in a city, so had to pay £20 for 1 night! We spent 2 nights here and it was an ideal location for Plymouth Arena and Theatre Royal. The room was pleasant and clean but very hot, we had the window open and fan on all night. The shower was very dangerous and you definitely couldn’t put a child in it, went from cold to boiling hot continuously. We went to reception for more toilet roll but no one responded to the bell so we had to go and find some in the toilets by the bar. The breakfast was cooked fresh which was lovely. We have previously stayed at the Imperial next door who provided a parking voucher when their facilities were full, I am not sure if this is still the case but worth checking if wanting to stay in this area. Overall It is a nice and convenient place to stay but do double check parking if this is a deciding factor for you.

The Drake is located a bit off the beaten path; it takes some time to walk into town. I had a single room under the roof, which was clean but modestly furnished. The stairs to it are quite narrow and steep; you should keep that in mind if you are arriving with luggage. Positive: The extensive breakfast and the free parking (if there is nothing left in the front, you can park behind the house). Overall good value for money.

Booked a deluxe king room as per their website with King bed not the case this room does not have a king bed owner in Singapore and staff unable to do anything. Very disappointed. Rooms are down under street level in hotel so views of concrete walls.

All the staff were very friendly. The room was very comfortable, as was the bed and the shower was lovely. The hotel was spotless. The breakfast was exceptional and was cooked fresh. The location was great. A few minutes walk from the town centre and about 10 minutes from the train station. We thought the room was good value for money. When we return to Plymouth, we would definitely stay here again.

WOW, what a wonderful hotel, and only a few steps and you are on Plymouth Hoe. Brilliant and very friendly staff, so very helpful. Cooked breakfasts were great. Considering where the hotel is, they offer free parking and we were able to reserve a spot at the front of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Plymouth, especially when this is my home town/city. Rooms were lovely. Service was brilliant. Location was great and good value for money. Rooms are bright, large open windows, lovely and clean. Any issues I did find they were reported and dealt with the same day. We had a small corner shower, which was good, but personal preference I like a bigger shower. Towels were a good size. They also have hair dryers which are very good and provide an fan, which we used throughout our stay. Nearby activitiesWell placed for the whole of Plymouth. SafetyDoors are locked after 10pm, but you are given a front door key with your room key. Well placed to access the whole of Plymouth, The Hoe, City centre ect Food and drinksBreakfast was really relaxed, well cooked and a good selection. Noteworthy detailsThe best is where the hotel is placed for Plymouth. Privately owned I believe and the most important details are the staff. All were wonderful, helpful and friendly. We even met some from your new hotel from up the road. Sir you have great staff.

We had three rooms, one on the top floor one on the first floor and one in the basement. All of which do not look as good as the website ones. It was hot, and boy were the rooms as well. The basement room had no window but air conditioning - a fan! Not the best and the air con unit was not working. The first floor room was without an office that had been converted from the type of door and space. The top floor room was ok at best. Reception check in very friendly and helpful and no issues, had to ask for towels for one of the rooms as they were not any in the room and soon sorted. Breakfast was included and fine and no issues with it at all. We had requested a parking space, and this had been kindly reserved for us which was good. If I am honest, it is a B and B, the rooms we had were not the best at all, and as a result of this, when back in the area we would stay elsewhere.

Good location and friendly staff but the breakfast was average and the noise was horrendous. Constant banging from the floor above and talking from the room next door, as well as the chefs music in the mornings. Was kept up past midnight both nights and woke up early both mornings and for that reason i would not stay again. Id advise not using the rooms out the back in the extension as the walls are clearly paper thin.
