Hotels in Calp: what's actually here
Calp has no gay hotel or gay guesthouse. The one men-only guesthouse, Casa La Diferencia in Canuta de Ifach, is listed by Google as permanently closed, and the house now runs as Boutique Casa Lapicida, an adults-only B&B that doesn't market itself as gay. Everything listed below is a mainstream hotel. Same-sex couples rarely draw attention in Calp's international resort hotels, but none of these places targets gay guests.
Seafront and beach hotels
Gran Hotel Sol y Mar faces Arenal-Bol beach in the centre and is one of the best-rated big hotels on this coast (4.7 from nearly 8,000 Google reviews); its spa, Spa Edén, is listed separately. On the north side of the rock, AR Diamante Beach and AR Roca Esmeralda are large spa hotels near La Fossa-Levante beach.
Smaller and town-centre hotels
Hotel Porto Calpe is by the fishing port and the foot of the Penyal d'Ifac. Hotel Calp and Hotel Maravillas del Mundo are small, simpler hotels between the old town and Arenal-Bol. The Cookbook is a food-focused boutique hotel with a spa in Marisol Park, above town; you'll want a car.
Staying in Calp vs Benidorm
If gay nightlife is the point of your trip, stay in Benidorm, 24 km south, and visit Calp for a day. If you want a quieter beach base, stay in Calp and take TRAM Line 9 or an ALSA bus to Benidorm for a night out, then a taxi back after the last tram.
