Archer Hotel Old Town Alexandria

Beautiful hotel in an amazing location right near the metro, Amtrak, and many restaurants. The courtyard is a nice charming bonus, too. My room was spacious, clean, and quiet, and I was fortunate to have a large balcony. Can't wait to visit again!

The air conditioning was so noisy i had to shut it off. Sweltering was better than running it. It sounded like a diesel truck was right next to my bed. Also there was only one nightstand next to the kingsized bed! So no place for a second occupant to put his or hers phone etc. No smart TV couldn’t watch 🏈 (go Bills) . Terrible experience and i had so looked forward to a nice experience.

9/2026 4 star: we returned to the hotel and had a much better stay this time. I’m guessing they had time to get their operations in order and everything was much smoother. The parking went up to $45 valet which is still insane but we like the smallness of the hotel, its location and the staff were very nice. 2/2026 2 star: This was a disappointing stay. The Archer bought out another hotel and updated it to add to their portfolio. We moved to this hotel from their three star hotel in Falls Church to be closer to our son. We had a better quality experience in the 3 star. They forgot to give us the $25 coupon to use in either of the two restaurants so on our last day when we had breakfast we were told we needed it and lost out. They didn’t replace the coffee or cups one day, they didn’t replace the glassware the next day. We requested a top sheet to be added to our bedding instead of just the duvet and they left it on top of the bed so we had to pull the bed apart and add it ourselves. We requested extra pillows and did not receive them. The 24 square foot bathroom and large entryway were nice to have but overkill as it made the living room space super small and tight placing it on an angle. They only had one sink in a massive space. They didn’t provide the bathroom amenities that the 3 star did. Parking was $40 per day something I think was excessive. They provide an umbrella in the very small and hard to access closet located in the bedroom itself along with a small refrigerator. They provides a small candy or fortune cookie two of the three days we were there. The location was great and nice to be able to walk to the shops and restaurants along King street and the courtyard was beautiful although due to weather we were not able to enjoy it. I hope they tighten up the housekeeping and services because it has better potential.

I had a very disappointing experience at Ankar Hotel Old Town. I booked through Booking.com with payment due at the property. At check-in, I first presented my MasterCard, but the receptionist said it declined. I then paid with my Visa, which was accepted. Later, I discovered my MasterCard had also been charged, resulting in a double charge. When I raised this with the manager, Isabela, she was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful, simply repeating that their system showed the MasterCard as declined. This caused significant stress during my holiday. I expected better customer service and support in resolving the payment issue. Despite contacting the hotel and my bank ,I have not still not been refunded for the duplicate charge. It's been a week no body resolve this issue

I called to request pricing for a 2 night stay for 2 adults in a room with a soaking tub. The representative was so incompetent, that I had to repeat everything multiple times, she would tell me it will take a while for her to look it up (turns out she was right on this one) then tell me it would take one second” despite long wait times. I told her not to worry about it and that I would simply book with another hotel. She seemed delighted she didn’t have to look anything up and could continue her day as unhelpful and useless as ever. There is a clear training and competency issue with Archer Hotels.
