LGBTQ+ organisations in Buffalo

Buffalo's queer community infrastructure is stronger than its bar scene. These are the organisations we could confirm as active in 2025-2026.

    • Pride Center of Western New York (278 Delaware Avenue): the region's community centre, with support groups (including a weekly transgender group), referrals and the most complete community calendar. In April 2025 GLYS and Evergreen Health announced that GLYS would take it over.
    • Evergreen Health (206 South Elmwood Avenue): health provider with an LGBTQ+ and HIV focus: primary care, PrEP and PEP, HIV care, gender-affirming care and a pharmacy. Its foundation runs Buffalo Pride.
    • MOCHA Buffalo (200 South Elmwood Avenue): Evergreen's centre for LGBTQ+ people of colour, founded in 1996 as the Men of Color Health Awareness Project. Free STI and HIV testing, counselling for ages 13-29, and social events.
    • GLYS Western New York (741 Main Street): LGBTQ+ youth services since 1983, including a drop-in centre and an annual Diversity Prom.
    • Stonewall Democrats of Western New York: LGBTQ+ political club, active in 2025-26.
    • Madeline Davis GLBT Archives of WNY (Buffalo State): the region's queer history collection, founded in 2001.
    • Upstate New York Black & Latino Pride: holds a street festival every July.

We couldn't confirm current activity for some groups that older guides list, including a Buffalo PFLAG chapter and the Spectrum Transgender Group, so they aren't included. Last verified: October 2026.
