Open since 2013 and often described as the region's longest-operating LGBT bar, Trevi is a warm, come-as-you-are spot known for karaoke, DJs, and lively drag and cabaret nights. The crowd skews friendly and all-ages-welcoming, and regulars consistently praise the accepting, no-attitude vibe. It is the one dedicated gay bar physically in Fairfield, and it punches well above the town's size.

Beyond Trevi, Fairfield County's scene is regional, and most nights out mean a short drive. The county's other anchor is Troupe429 in nearby Norwalk (3 Wall Street), a gay-owned bar with nightly drag, karaoke, and weekend dancing that many locals consider the best gay bar in the area. A little farther afield, New Haven offers Partners Café, open since 1974, and the historic 168 York Street Café near Yale — both long-running institutions worth the trip.

Events and Pride

There is no standalone Fairfield Pride, but the celebration that draws Fairfield-County residents is Pride in the Park, the region's largest LGBTQ+ festival, organized each June by the Triangle Community Center and held in Norwalk. Elsewhere in the county, the New Haven Pride Center runs its own festivities, typically in September, and Bridgeport has recently opened a community-run Pride center of its own. Any of these are an easy reach from Fairfield.

The Metro-North New Haven Line stops at two stations in town, and I-95 and the scenic Merritt Parkway both cut through, putting New York City, New Haven, and Stamford within comfortable range. Fairfield's greatest asset is its location. New York City and its vast gay scene are roughly an hour and fifteen minutes away by train. Norwalk, with Troupe429 and the Maritime Aquarium, is just to the west, and the beaches of the Long Island Sound stretch along the whole shoreline for easy summer escapes.
